PMDG 737 Discussion (Xbox Series S|X version)

Gotcha, thanks. I was assuming that I was supposed to indicate pushback direction with the rudder, but I never tried the ailerons. I guess that explains why the pushback started pulling me forward one time when I wasn’t expecting it; I must have accidentally pushed forward on the stick.

Can someone please tell me why I have Black Screens today on everything for the PMDG and yesterday it was fine. I start off in taxi mode and after I installed the HUD I had two crashes out of KSFO and then ok. I also saw today that the 737 has a different tail number than my customization and once again there was a CTD. I tried the A310 and it was fine and had the correct tail number.

Can’t believe it but yesterday all was fine!

I noticed in the real thing recently going on holiday (jet 2 737), that the speed break was used during decent.

Been mostly fine for me today but it won’t behave at all with FlyTampa Corfu and Pilot’s Alicante. Those two = instant CTD every time.

Now it’s back to normal, go figure!

I’ve also been jamming on the speed brake to try to get this thing to slow down. For those who haven’t figured it out yet, just bind a control to the speed brake; toggling it in the air will set the speed brake to the flight detent, which is what you want during descent.

If you don’t bind a control to the speed brake, good luck trying to click and drag the handle around. :joy:

Just hope we don’t have to wait long for liveries kills the immersion a little. Bit worried it’s going to take a while as the dc6 liveries still not available.

I think possibly it’s because PC simmers can buy direct from PMDG website and it might be sold cheaper on there? Microsoft will want their cut from Market Place sales hence more expensive??

Starting to see an increasing number of 737 in multiplayer. I’d give it a month (more or less) before the number beats all the A320s. Just a fun prediction.

As the real 737 pilots have said on the main 737 thread, speedbrake is a very unelegant way of slowing down. Best to manage energy on descent instead. Use any steps/pauses in descents (eg altitude constraints to let the aircraft slow itself down. Use speed intv to tell it what speed you want to target etc. Most of the time VNAV will get you there until almost final where you can manually slow down further if required.

I do many 738 flights per year and on each occasion the pilots are very liberal with the spoilers in the descent.

I nervously just tried her with the hideously complex Drzewiecki Tallinn but after over an hour circuit-bashing I’m thrilled to report no issues!

As I said previously, seems pretty stable save for a couple of third-party airports.

Just had a strange glitch after pushback I lost control over rudder the pedals were moving in cockpit but wouldn’t move external also with parking brake on it crept forward and couldn’t manually brake

Also how do you delete a waypoint during flight on the navigation page? Can’t seem to figure it out.

Flytampa Vegas is no better. I’ve had several crashes with the A310 at that airport. I’m thinking that the 737 is not to blame…

Absolutely not. I constantly get black avionics and CTDs at FlyTampa’s KLAS even in something like the default A320. Admittedly, it used to be way worse; there was a time between SU9-SU11 that many of the detailed or busy airports were completely unusable.

You don’t need to drag. Click on the value you want on the speed brake panel and it will slide into place.

Interesting. I used a mouse so I don’t use those little popups. I didn’t know you could do that.

Does anyone have issues with the spoiler lever getting stuck on Xbox? Once I use it I can’t move it.

As nice as Flytampa’s work is, it’s brutal for CTDs.

+1 for that issue, with the gamepad.
