PMDG 737 Discussion (Xbox Series S|X version)

Of course, I can’t specifically point out right now but a very heated exchange and rather rude response occurred during the discussion on liveries for the Xbox 737 I recall

FWIW, flew the -700 yesterday and it worked great without the UFT. Ok so I had to enter my own flight plan, everything else worked just fine!

Also been flying the -800 over the past few days without the UFT and it’s performing perfectly. I’m not bothered about doing the flight plan and loadout manually but missing the takeoff calculator for the engine settings

I have had the same problem nor being able to upload flight plan or weight from the fmc and calculation tool not working on the eft, also i have noticed that if you choose another livery of the aircraft that you havent chosen to have the eft tablet option on in the fmc yet, if you try and put the tablet on in the settings in the fmc it doesnt show since the update. So any liveries of the aircraft that you havent put the eft on in the setting on the fmc before the update you wont be able to get it now after the update for some reason.

As the manual explains, we consider each livery a completely standalone aircraft that does not share settings with any other livery. So if you fly the KLMN 737-800, it does not share settings and history (wear and tear) with the Ryanair. That is mainly done so you can ensure that each aircraft has the correct equipment for that airline.

I have held back installing the PMDG B737 update. I’m in the SU15 beta. Can confirm my EFB and Simbrief integration all still working perfectly on my -800 so seems it is definitely the PMDG update that has caused the issue, I’m going to delay updating until we can figure out where the problem is…

There is ONLY an issue on the Xbox/Cloud platform, not on PC (direct sales, Steam or Marketplace). This is a very strange issue as we did not change the code that causes a problem and it works fine on none Xbox versions. Somehow the same code is interpreted differently on Xbox and PC (something that is not supposed to happen, the code should be platform transparent). We have reached out to Microsoft about this.

If you are on Xbox ,we advise you not to update if you find this an important issue, if you are on PC we advise you to update. The latest update solves several issues that could be problematic in certain conditions. We have NOT seen any new problems with this update on PC.

Then please release the previous version again because everything worked perfectly with the tablet on Xbox.

Many thanks for the clarification

Do you think this has to do with the beta? I have no clarification on if people are experiencing this in both the SU 14 and SU 15 versions of the sim, because the latest update is not on PC and only for Xbox performance improvements. It could be that.

EDIT: Is anyone experiencing this on the stock SU 14 version of the sim?

perhaps Xbox memory optimization in the beta test is doing something fishy to it.

So how do we uninstall the update and go back to the previous build befire the update if already installed on the xbox? Or am i stuck with this issue now until a new dix is available? Thanks

The issue is not related to SU15 beta. Unfortunately, the MS Marketplace (that is also behind the Xbox) does not allow uninstalling of installed copies.

We will be able to fix this issue the moment we have feedback from Microsoft. At this moment, anything we do is stabbing the issue in the dark. That is a suitable approach on PC because you can tweak, test, tweak, test… Via the marketplace, there could be a week between us uploading the new files and us being able to test it on Xbox. So for even the smallest thing you change, you have to wait to be able to see what it did.

It is for that reason that the platform-agnostic fundament of MSFS is so incredibly important.

There was an Xbox omega system update today that has totally bricked the PMDG 737-800 on Series S.

Ctd during loading screen at any airport.

Same on series X - I gave up and played Fallout 4 instead

Is this just the PMDG 737 or is anything else affected? Is it a WASM issue? It sounds quite serious…

Seems to be quite a few aircraft but mostly PMDG. I saw a screenshot of white screens instead of black screens in an A320 so the problem seems to be evolving

I tried in the Cirrus SR20 and everything worked fine. There again that is a very basic a/c.

What is the omega system on Xbox? And specifically, what update are you referring to?

To join flight sim beta program you must join the Xbox insider program. In addition to flight sim beta updates you will also choose what cycle of system updates your console will receive.
Alpha are the most unstable but Omega are released shortly before public and should have no issues, being so late stage.
