I have many times successfully started the PMDG 737-700 from cold and dark. Today was the first time with sub-zero-celsius temperatures outside.
When I switched the engine start to “GRD” the engine did not really spool up - it stayed at around 9 - 15 but that’s it. Normally it spools up and I open up fuel supply. This time around it did not work.
I must be missing something I need to do for cold weather maybe?
I’m assuming you’re using the proper starting technique, where both packs are manually turned off, and APU bleed air is ON before switching the ignition to GND.
Hello,
The AAU 1 beta is only for the aircraft in scope for the beta. This thread is being moved to Aviation, Navigation, Communication, where people can discuss “how do I?” with their aircraft.
You do seem experienced so I’m sure you’re aware, but is it possible the packs were off?
This is exactly what will happen if the packs were not turned off.
I’ve started these on the sim in some very cold conditions and had no issues.
OK, tested again - this time all ok.
I have a tendency to forget to activate the remaining 3 pumps - so let’s say: probably my bad ^^
thanks guys/tgals!
