It works close to sufficient with loading the SimBrief .PLN from the world map (press Space first) and then picking a gate on the map, then changing SID and Approach to Direct. This transfers DEP and DEST and FL to the ATC in the sim. Once in the plane, I load the flight plan directly from SimBrief (FBW A320Neo) or the exported plan (PMDG 737). And yes, ATC will still assign the same RWY as always, no matter of the wind direction. It’s more variable on the landing rwy, but still does not match real life or weather in the sim.
During climb, new FLs are assigned on time, but you must stay on QNH until you reach 18.000 (US trans alt). If you switch to Std too early (in Europe, trans alt is lower), your altitude might not match what ATC is “seeing”.
In the 737, descent is often requested too early by ATC, while in the FBW A320, it comes almost on spot (3x rule).
