PMDG Boeing 777 status

I’m on fence for the 777-200, since I already have the 300ER and F. However, I’m hopping on a 777-200 tomorrow IRL, and of course did my repro sim flight this morning on the 300ER, so it wasn’t quite the same…

Somewhat I’m relieved that they will be 24 only. Will wait and see how the 772 performs, since I have the 77W. It’s great news anyway.

It’s great sales tactic to first release a new product for msfs 2024 before rolling out the compatibility updates. In a few days I have to decide if I want to save money and wait a month or two for the 777-300ER compatability update, or if I’m so starved of a good Boeing simulation in MSFS 2024 that I buy the 777-200.

Yes, that makes sense. The day FS24 was released I decided to uninstall MSFS2020 and now I’m so high-def simulation Boeing hungry that the first option is completely out of the question. 777-200 is a day one purchase for me.

You’ve already waited almost 5 months - what’s another few weeks? I don’t have a super-huge interest in the -200ER; if anything, I’m more interested in the -200LR, which won’t come until probably June. So I’m probably just going to wait until my existing 77W and 77F are available in ‘24.

The 777-300 will hopefully be a free upgrade to 2024. I had the 773 and 738 in 2020 so I’m hoping theyre free upgrades or very reasonable charged upgrades. But I’ll be buying g the -200 and 747 when they come to 2024.

Say, I’m not up to speed on the variants: If you please, what is the one liner major difference between the two that would inform one’s preference? Thanks!

The primary difference is that the -200ER comes with three different engine variants (GE, Rolls Royce or Pratt & Whitney), while the LR is GE-only. The 77F is based on the 777-200LR, so those two models should fly and handle very similarly, depending on payload.

Depends on the 200s liveries
I’m still filthy we haven’t seen the Air NZ 777 livery on Xbox
To be brutally honest PMDGs livery game is their achilles heel. The way they rolled out the 737 liveries with a price with some packs duplicating airlines was poor form. They should release liveries per region. Asia, Pacific, Euro, North America etc etc.
The 777 liveries were more affordable but we only saw 1 pack on Xbox with the 2nd pack stuck in vaporware status, still hasn’t seen the light of day

I’d get the series 200, as I’ve had quite a few flights on that type and the 77W, which I already own. Not sure about the 77L and 77F. But all this is dependent on the final price. Actually, I am wanting to get the 747 Classics, as they’re my all-time favourites.

Kind regards
