PMDG Boeing 777 status

Same with everything you said!

Can’t wait! Insta buy for me.

Same for me love the T7 its my baby

The 777-300 is probably the most popular variant. Why does pmdg release that at first ? From marketing and sales pov the least popular variants should come first.

Does it really matter? People will buy the model ‘they’ want regardless of which is released first so they’ll certainly make bank either way (and I don’t mean a Bill Gates type of bank). They’ll have more experience on this since the 737.

of course does not matter. think some people will buy the first release no matter what they prefer. some end up with 2 or 3 variants which they dont need at the end !

The answer is in your question.

FWIW and my personal opinion, it’s a complete waste of everybody’s time to first release a less popular version.

They did it with less popular B737 and released B738 a few months later.

To beat that dead horse further into glue (see the discussions in the 737 thread going back almost 2 yeasr now), “least popular” is subjective. You tend to hear it mostly from Europeans, as carriers in that part of the world don’t use it much. Whereas in the US, there are hundreds of them flying routes every single day. I’ve flown on -700’s more than -800’s myself, in fact.

But anyway, the bottom line is - as it ALWAYS is - buy the variant(s) you want and just be patient if it’s not the one that comes out first. I was actually kind of expecting the F to come first but at least we shouldn’t have too long to wait after the 300ER based on Robert’s answers in the Q&A session. (The F will be the second version).

Did they say something about pricing?

Yes, they said it would be “roughly in line” with the 737 series. The 737 is currently $75. I guess the 777 will be just a little bit more expensive in the end. Maybe $79,99. Let’s see. But maybe they also do a promotional price that puts the 777 back on the same level as the not discounted 737.

That “currently $75” isn’t really correct. That’s only for the -700 and -800, and they’ve both been “on sale” since release. The -900 and -600 are both quite a bit less expensive.

As of today - 4,989 B738 planes built and delivered vs 1,128 B737. Which one is more popular in the real world is very clear. Even on Simbrief six times more players fly B738 than B737.
No one is talking about individual preferences. You may fly -700 more often but it won’t change the fact that this variant is less popular.

I would guess, based on popular, wishes and demand from simmers:

777-300ER: US$ 69.99
777-200ER: US$ 59.99
777F/LR: US$ 49.99

Will it have main gear that eject off on takeoff with the United Livery? I want to fly out of KSFO, and feel the full immersion!!

It will be very interesting to see what actually comes out and what gets lumped with what…

I’m guessing the 200, 300, the LR 200 and the various vip options (bearing in mind that they are still like prodotypes in a sense) will come out with the respective vairent models?
Would there be much need/want in the community for a stock standard 200A varient? Maybe the 777-100 trijet :rofl:

I guess we had the entire range for the NG73s so I’m guessing in pmdg style, we will get the entire 777 family?

Did you see this video guys? My hype is increasing…

I saw it yesterday at FSWeekend. Plane looks amazing and so does the UFT. Haven’t tried because there was a line ofc.
I took some pics of the UFT, not the best of quality but hopefully we have this plane in our hands soon:
