PMDG Boeing 777 status

Weather radar is becoming standard now — unless they’ve implemented it fully, without limits?

Nope it will be 77W only - As per as what they have mentioned, All of the 777 variants will come separately. Similar to what they have done with 737 fleet. I get what they are trying to say with buy what you need it but with 777-200LR and 777F there is not much difference except one is passenger variant and the other freighter variant so having them in one package makes sense.

Nope, just the same sim-standard WX radar that’s in the stock 747, 787, etc. Nothing specific to do with ActiveSky or any other product.

When applied in b737 ?

Ask PMDG, not me.

It is not that similar since the 737 freighter versions included in the specific package (like 737 pax + 737 cargo)
So ı assumed that they will sell 777 pax and F versions together. That is interesting and not so good imo

A closer look at the 777 Flight Tablet:

Actually you are correct - the 737 freighter variant actually comes with passenger variant so it is safe to assume that same story when 77L comes out. They both use same engines GE90, raked wingtips & similar fuselage to passenger variant. Either way I am looking forward to the entire 777 fleet into MSFS.

They know how to make me excited. I can’t wait to get hold of this beaut.

What’s with the creepy ghost hand holding the tablet in today’s PMDG 777-300ER youtube video?

Very well that’s good then - last thing I heard from PMDG was weather radar was not possible for them to implement it correctly due to how weather works in msfs, Unless something has changed.

It’s still not possible for them to do it the way they want, but evidently they have given into community demand for SOMETHING in lieu of an INOP sticker.

I guess it’s a VR controller.

Ah, so that’s where the Addams Family’s Thing ended up, playing the pilot’s right hand in a triple seven.

From the link I posted above:

Ah. Makes sense. Thing was a genius part of Addams Family.

So with this type of thing… when the tablet is put away, is the memory alocated to it recovered? In other words, does putting the tablet away help performance (even a little)?

Any news on what the maximum simrate will be for the 777? x8 would be nice for super long hauls

That will be an interesting metric.

It is definitely dependent on one’s hardware. On my old gaming laptop, 8x would result in a lot of bobbing and altitude chasing, whereas my faster desktop machine can generally handle 8x, though I only use a max of 4x unless I’m really in a hurry.

In reply to a comment on the PMDG forums today, Mathijs said 4X is generally the limit over land, but 8X is usable over water.
