PMDG Boeing 777 status

I think next tests will coming

If you look at displays also many other data are missing there. I’ve restored my saved flight to continue to land and after landing, my brakes are not functional  I don’t know why because brake positions on pedals are moving. Ok, I’ll do next tests today later

Yep. I think I remember this quote correctly being about the 777:

“It has an extra set of flight controls in order to operate, so we don’t call it the stick of shame in this bird.” (in reference of the spoilers lever)

How do you do it? I’ve just tried to load a flight that I saved several hours ago, the plane is completely dark and nothing works. I can’t even use FMC to load the saved panel state. When I hit ESC and RESTART the plane starts working again but it spawns 1,000ft above sea level. When I saved this flight, I was at FL250.

v1 was the Prepar3D version of this plane… maybe that’s why MSFS version is de v2. Is the same that happens with the 737, whose “official” name is PMDG 737 NG3 (the third version; the first was NGX for FSX and the second was NGu for Prepar3D).

Anyone know where is the switch for locking the flight deck door?

At the very end of the center console on the left side (Pilot Seat Side). Adjecent to the OBS Audio selector. But the Button is marked INOP.

Eugh since update every flight since update I now have full freeze at around 1500AGL, so frustrating.

And thanks for that @JayDee6281, shame it is inop when they included it in the checklist…

If you’re using FSRealistic, don’t. I hear it’s the cause of these CTDa

Hmm, it was all fine before the update… but I will try without.

Just make sure the door is closed and then click the checklist item as complete.

That may well be the case but the installer just calls it the “737-800 for MSFS” there is no NG ref or v1, v2, v3 etc. Whereas the 777 is specifically labelled “777-300ER v2 for MSFS”.

Did my second flight in the big bird tonight. My first flight was Paine to Denver, came down hard on the mains as I was still used to the height of the 737, -536fpm and a bounce that I should have gone around on. Glad no one saw that but myself.
Tonight I did Denver to LAX. Messed around with increasing the sim rate… wow that’s cool!
Uneventful landing at -138fpm, girlfriend gave me a “BUTTER!”.

Loving this bird so much. Perf on my PC is great with everything to ultra. Love the quality of life improvements from the 73’s to the tablet and such.

Since the update I get reproducable crash of the sim very shortly after take-off as soon as i retract the gear. It just freezes. No CTD, have to kill it through the task manager. Flying in VR.

Anyone else finding the APU won’t start? My first flight post with 2.0.34 update and I’ve switched APU to START, but the switch just says on START and won’t start. Worked fine on previous version. I’m all fueled & loaded up and ready to head to KDFW from ELGG but now stuck ready for push back, but with only ground power & can’t proceed.

So I completely restarted my flight and I’m sat at the gate with ground power hooked up (via the EFB), the cable is hooked onto the aircraft, but I can’t get the EXT power lights to illuminate on the OHP so I can’t turn ground power on. Strangely EXT power was fine on the last attempt with the flaky APU.
I’d really like 2.0.33 back at this stage, this patch seems to have broken things & perhaps needed more time.
At this stage I’m either going to have to wait for 2.0.35 or try a complete fresh re-install . So annoying & I’ve just wasted over an hour already.

ps. can you do a fresh reinstall of the 777 from the ops center or do you need to wipe via windows apps and do a re-download from website?

EDIT: After a complete sim reboot and back in again to try same flight and EXT power works and APU can now start. Wish me luck.

EDIT2: Now airborne after 2hrs wasted. Seems like the 777 needed that new (wasm?)compile that it gets on starting the first fight after an update then required completely quitting the sim then restarting it. I don’t know for sure but working for now.

When I once reinstalled the 737, I had to do it via the Windows apps, then reinstalled via the installer.

I should add, I don’t think PMDG caused my system freeze. Shortly afterwards, while tracking a family member on FR24, returning from a holiday, I had a BSOD pointing to “Video something or other”… Time for a beautiful day of troubleshooting. Maybe my 3070 has finally had enough of being tortured.

Are you deleting any constraints. I had deleted constraints and then it froze after I took off.

This is interesting also to me.

I did my flight as this. Start at stand. 3x reload my state of panel cfg then all displays started to show what I have set and saved. Prepared Simbrief and loaded via EFB for first then in to FMC, next typical settings for flight. Taxi and t/o. No problems. Followed path to destination FL - no problems. After reached FL - Save flight from sim menu (ESC-SAVE) and continue flight to destination. Landing and other next procedures - without any problem. After this test (again pls, test of flight and not so deep to specific proc - APU,…) I’ve loaded saved flight from in sim menu and was there where I’ve saved my flight, this is my picture on first post. Aircraft has followed route, every think ok from first quick look. Did quick shortcut set from FMC as test for LNAV nav, no problem. But then I’ve discovered that on display is this error with fuel and then after also that some data are missing. Then I’ve closed flight and did that reload from arrival time of this flight (I’ve saved also this). Really after landing my brakes are inoperative, can’t brake absolutely.
What is more strange is so users have CTDs or freezes after t/o or similar situations - I don’t have any of this but with previous version only freezes completely after reload of saved situation, simply all things inaccessible. Also strange is to me problem of parking brakes, I don’t understand to this, I don’t have any with first release but now I have that after reload situation. To my opinion, all good pros guys here need check deeply all things functionality with this version update. I think that reload of saved situation isn’t still functional like it is with 737 but it is good start to have this solved. I think it is still related with that no possible load saved state of panel, with startup in case set also (option there inside FMC). Pls differ here 2 options - state of panel save and save flight situation. Simply, after reload flight and be +/- ok, I’ve tried reload that panel state and then all things are there on displays but aircraft started to do crazy things in the air, I needed to correct quickly with slew to set it to correct FL +/- but I understand that this is initial patch and good next one will come  Will do next tests today. I think that anyone can install initial package to have first version but so we have different problems (freezes, parking brake,…) is not so good sign here, probably sim related also. This is quite complex beauty and PMDG need have some time to solve this without doubts

Reload flight situation I can only compare with my 737-700 where all is functional ok +/- and have never problems to reload and continue flight from last saved position. Here I mean use option in sim to save/load flight and do nothing with panel states cfg in case. Here I expect that thing how it can work, saved initial panel state with load of flight but this must PMDG know where to look to solve this completely. So I see this initial panel state not loaded correctly with flight start still, compared to 737. Many thnx PMDG for your work!

Update for today and now.

After load of this my saved situation now - no fuel warning  also aircraft is abs perfectly on state  but data on MFD are nissing. Will do landing as continue flight now and will see how brakes will do their job

aaaaaaaaaaaah  meanwhile I’m writing this post, now that warning with fuel appeares. FUEL DISAGREE PROG 2/4 I don’t know if I do some errors with cfg of plane  now my experiences are little bit low

No, aircraft has all things set (LNAV,…) but doesn’t follow route initially after load of the flight, it flies straight ahead so it need initial command (shortcut or reset of waypoint → to) so also I see this as not initiated with flight.
heh this is simply unlucky situation from yesterday where I did this initially with feeling that all is working ok.

From this initial intervention, aircraft now follows all perfectly. Will see after landing with brakes.

Aerosoft Pushback, works fine with 777 and Fenix.
