Fenix relies on a separate app that runs outside of the sim. Effectively, MSFS is a visual rendering engine for their planes. Same for iFly before anyone else brings them up again. Aircraft that run solely and exclusively within the confines of the MSFS simulation environment don’t have that flexibility. It shouldn’t be necessary to explain this to people again, but here we are.
I am well aware of how it works, but the point being it works. I just find with PMDG of late it always someone else’s fault. Of course it is so easy to make the Fenix work right, it just renders inside!! There is no two way data flows between the app and the Plane?
The interdependencies are legion and mind boggling! It is amazing that MSFS works at all, really. That PMDG can place a Boeing airliner in the hands of an Xbox owner to enjoy, well that is truly an accomplishment.
2024 is such a mess on my Series X (and yes I have a very fast internet connection with no air gaps, everything is hard wired) and yet my 737s and 77W run great in 2020; I can certainly wait for anything add-on for 24. 2020 never looked better to me than today (and yes the flight model in 2024 is a huge improvement, sadly surrounded by a lot of needless obstacles to free flight).
Guess I’m going to retire my A300-600RF next week for a 777 freighter, no need to wait for 24.
