You might have an issue with the WASM add-on. I know some people have.
I’d uninstall the DC-6, fully quit the sim, uninstall and reinstall the WASM add on support, launch the sim, reinstall the DC-6 and see if that fixes it.
I note you suggest maybe uninstalling/ Reinstalling WASM ,I did not know that could be done .In case I need to I would be grateful if you could explain exactly how this is done ,thank you.
The WASM add-on support is located in:
My games & apps > See all > MSFS 2020 > Menu > Manage game and add-ons > MSFS 2020 > Microsoft Flight Simulator: Add-on Support > A (to untick Installed) > Save Changes
You can reinstall it the same way by ticking the Installed box via A.
For Xbox users, there is a special addon program which is updated regularly whenever new WASM planes are released. It should install/update automatically whenever you launch MSFS on Xbox, but if you were in suspend or quick launch mode, then it may not check for an update. Make sure you fully quit MSFS and re-launch it to force the update. If that still doesn’t work, try restarting your Xbox console.

I just picked this bird up Xbox Series X.
What a beautiful plane to behold!
I still need to setup my Boeing yolk to take advantage of full throttle control.
I did however fly a bit using my Hotas One and controller. Everything was fine until I tried to move the rudder using mouse control. It moved once and would not move again.
Hopefully I can assign that to a knob on the Boeing.
A lot to learn with plane , I better dig into the manual.
Super happy we have such a high quality aircraft on Xbox and with WASM. Things are looking up for console enthusiasts.
You’re not fighting the Automated Flight Engineer, are you? If he”s set to on this can occur. He moves them back where they need to be to safely operate the engines stress-free.
So, for example, you have all the switches on the AFE page of the tablet set to off and when you manipulate the throttles they don’t stay where you set them?
