you are out of date with your info, it is coming to the marketplace, but somewhat laters.
6 months later? Give me a break. People will have moved on by then.
The Sim is around 60 bucksā¦
Navigraph is around 90 bucks a year⦠The CRJ was around 50 bucks⦠My HOTAS with table mounts and the rudder pedals were around a thousand bucks⦠The 49āā monitor I went for last week for the sim was around 1.2K⦠And donāt even dare to ask what the 3090 will be in order to drive that many pixels.
Itās never the sim itself thatās expensive - itās always about how far and deep one feels to go into it but then again, no one is forced to go that route so Iām not even sure what this discussion is all about.
If yourāre fine with what the game has to offer by itself, GREAT !
haha yes, but its funny, isnt it,these useless discussions.
Itās everywhere the same. You have these silly discussions on every forum. Be it photography (that lens is too expensive, that camera is too expensive), motorcycles, cars, whateverā¦
And youāre right. Itās always convoluted arguments that are highly subjective, more often than not without backup (how the heck do we know what investments PMDG - or any developer - had to make to produce this thing?), and have more to do with personal preference, interest and socio-economics than anything else.
I totally get that a 16 year old enthusiast will be bummed out by 70 dollars. Whereas a well earning 30 year old or above, wonāt blink twice.
For me itās more like: do I want to fly this thing or not and am I gonna like it. Once I have my mind made up about that, I will spend (or not spend) the money. Of course I also have a personal limit, above which I think spending the amount is just silly. But I donāt expect PMDG to reach that limit.
lol miss me with that ā ā ā ā I would rather buy 6 more months of gamepass
As a life-long airplane buff, having ridden on one of these as a kid, and after seeing the PMDG tutorial videos, instant buy unless the price is just outrageous which it wonāt be.
I donāt think that comparing the price of this aircraft to the Simulator is a relevant comparrisonā¦
With PMDG aircraft, you are not really buying an add-on aircraft⦠what you are buying is an aircraft simulator that works in the MSFS environment. (Bit like the CRJ but will probably work much better without all the CRJ issues).
As such buying a PMDG is not so much like buying MSFS2020 or a normal add-on aircraft, its more like buying a complete new experience/game that requires MSFS to operate ![]()

since i am also bying the F14 of DC designs,i am never giving more than 50 for ANY plane INSIDE A GAME
dittoā¦I like to support great developers
If this were a dc-3, insta buy. Or any other largish twin (turbo) prop (come on someone do a bt67 plx) but I have 0 interest in the bigger planes be it props or jetliner. Just not my cup of tea. I always hoped pmdg would do something smaller⦠![]()
Thatās bad news for you though, as dedicated TPDs make most of their money with modern airliners and not two engined vintage planes. That is to say the DC-3 will be made by someone, but probably not be study level.
Supply of GA is ok, but especially dissapointing s the market for study level Business Jets. It seems no one bothers to make them.
Iām not buying it. If they make a B727-100/200 or a B737-200 or a DC9-30 Iāll pounce on it. Not interested in the DC-6.
Yep, quite sadly so. Iād love to see it or a bt-67. I just do not feel like a jet pilot, i was never jet rated and never had interest in it. Iād also be all over something like a Majestic C208⦠But one can dream. Maybe one day Iāll be a happy pmdg camper as wellā¦
I would 100% be with you concerning the BT-67! Itād bring together the new and the old in the optimal way.
ehhh Fabio is a naturally charismatic guy. A real joy honestly considering a lot of streamers in other communities can be really cynical and negative (what the kids call toxic). Honestly, all of our MSFS streamers are great from what I can tell ā this community has been a highlight of the pandemic.
Probably wonāt be buying it because it looks too daunting
Got enough on my plate learning the finer details of the a32nx and crj700
Hereās my story.
I became an avid Flight Sim addict starting with Flight sim 5.0. The addiction reached its height at Century of Flight (FS 9). in FS9 I started using add-ons I had all the add-ons that I wanted, all freeware. I flew long distance flights every day. I bought FSX on day one, deleted all my FS9 things and discovered none of my add-ons worked in FSX. After a few months I lost interest in FSX and focused on other things, I got married, fathered two awesome kids and along with my wife, raised them to the point they no longer need constant attention. I was peripherally aware of MS leaving the business later on. I havenāt had a personal PC since roughly 2012.
When I heard about MSFS 2020 some time in March 2020. I instantly started to wonder if I should get back into simming. It got to the point I barely thought of anything else. So I bought;
Alienware laptop (~$6,000.00)
Monitor (~$1,000.00)
Peripherals (~$600.00)
MSFS Premium Deluxe (~$110.00) - by far the best deal of everything so far!
Then I took my first leap into payware addons. Spent probably $500 on add-ons. have not flown a default plane since I bought the Carenado Mooney.
Am I buying the DC6? Yup! I think Iād even buy it at $200, $300? 400???
If I fly it for 100 hours (very likely) itās as expensive as renting movies on on I-tunes.
EDIT; the above figures are in Canadian Dollars
Why Alienware Laptop instead of PC? Do you travel often?
No. Itās a very simple reason: PMDG have NEVER announced a price until directly before release and they donāt change it. They donāt allow discussions about that topic in their forum and announcing a price would result in ONLY this topic all the time.
