yap, many were waiting for it but not everyone was expecting it, uh !?

as an addendum: even peepz on their forums are wondering about their pricing now - so much fun…

@BostonJeremy77 I think the poster was trying to say that once pmdg makes the add-on for MSFS then they’ve spent all the money they’re going to spend and they don’t need to continue to charge for it. Or something like that.

So, PMDG should charge hundreds of thousands of dollars for the first one and then give the rest of them away free!

Or, they could spread out their development costs over the entire number that they sell, and also make sure that they are covering their support costs -which go up the more they sell- and position themselves in the market like they want. Sort of like I imagine they are going to do.

I think I’ll wait for the 50% off sale, to keep the price below my $500,000 budget.

It will be today. In a few hours, I would imagine. They always post these kinds of prices on pages before release.

Didn’t expect it to cost more than a 3090 to be fair

Uh, Kind of what i was saying.

My point is that it makes no sense to compare this to a Ferrari. Even though this plane is the absolute best addon created for MFS to date.

The team make one DC-6 and sell it as many times as possible. Zero cost to them to sell 1, 100, or 100,000 copies.

Each Ferrari sold costs money to create, therefore, Ferrari charges a lot of money per car.

If PMDG can sell one copy for $5 million, then heck yes, do that!

But if they can make more money selling it for $20 than for $140, then sell it for $20.

hey, they only copied the plane that many times… ! you gotta be quick !
