Yup, more than one way to skin the preverbial cat.
Thatâs cool! Canât wait to give it a whirl.
I was just complaining about the Arrows in the Wind Setup UI - and maybe I am making much too much out of it â I was just a little upset at the time when I was adjusting surface winds, while I was parked by the windsock.
120 Knot head wind, or side wind, and the C172 never shook a millimeter !!!
Also, with a direct headwind, the Airspeed indicator in the plane was no were near the wind speed, while you are on the ground.
Once you are back on the runway, with a decent headwind, you can take off Vertically, with the appropriate throttle setting. But on the ground, when you are stationary, the wind has no effect at all.
So there is a really weird transition between that ground state, and being airborne.
But this is going OFF Topic now, so Iâll shut up
You SIR are the best.
Can you please check if the active leg is no longer indicated on the FPL page (at least when an RNAV approach is active. Thank you.
Awesome news, After expect last evening practising in the Mooney just I can thank @ScorpionFilm422 and everyone involved in this mod for the excellent job done.
Wow great mod! So I take it it works with the Mooney?
Yep, works great
Releases always tested with Mooney and Native Cessna 172
Hi guys,
Is anyone having problems when use the Autopilot.
Not sure what happen but now when active the autopilot the plane become crazy.
I practiced some IFR yesterday and today in not working as before.
Maybe this is my answer
When I have a flightplan loaded I canât enter a fix manually. if I press ENT to accept, it just takes me back to the FPL without anything added. Is this a known bug?
EDIT: ok thatâs weirdâŠplane is flying to the new waypoint, but the magenta line doesnât appear on NAV page, and the new waypoint doesnât appear in the flightplan page. However, in the NAV page it shows itâs flying to the waypoint. So it actually added it, but not the magenta line or in the FPL page
I donât see any issue with inserting a WP to a FPL. Please verify that you have the last mod version and if the problem persists, thank you to give me the exact sequence to reproduce (the shortest one, not after a 3 hours fly).
Yeah, I downloaded it today. Iâll try take a video next time I fly it.
Your last paragraph⊠yes, yes, yes. Totally agree. They may be great game developers, but I wish they would pay someone (pilot? Garmin engineer?) for a few hours of their time to learn how this stuff REALLY works.
Yes, you can get away with a lot more âincorrectâ things in a Fantasy World, than you can when you are attempting to simulate something that is Real Life.
The saving factor is that these are only PC âgamesâ.
Imagine if Garmin sub-contracted a Gaming Company to design & code their new G8500 !!
One cannot expect a Car Mechanic to be able to instantly do Brain Surgery, nor a Brain Surgeon to be able to rebuild a car engine. â but over time, with a lot of training & practice, either may be able to do the otherâs job.
âŠand to be fair, even the default âX-Plane 530â as itâs labeled in the game, is a fantasy reproduction of the actual G530. Phillip, the Laminar employee that works on the XP530 said time and again, he only coded the basic functions that you need to complete most flights, and that was good enough.
I know it sounds like making excuses, but these are default aircraft with default systems. Theyâll never be anything more from Asobo. I wish they gave them more love, but I realize thatâs ânormalâ for a flightsim.
Hi. In C172 with or without this mod G530 and G430 CDI show different meanings. For example, I set same VOR frq on 530 and 430, and set same radial on CDI 1 and 2. Then fly over radial on CDI 1, but at that time CDI 2 show deviation.
Can this correct?
Excellent work. Thank you so much for your efforts. Iâll get downloaded today!
3 hours Later, after testing this, taking scteen shots, and starting to post, I realized I had Uninstalled the GNS530 mod, in preparation for Tuesdayâs update ⊠that never came.
So, now with latest GN530 mod, this is what I find.
Both Receives, when tuned to the same VOR, read almost identically (within 1-2 degrees, which is a realistic RL error)
Setup:
Parked at KIAD, tuned into CSN on a TO 237 deg radial.
Plane at center of KIAD (as on map), pointed directly to CSN ( Compass 237 deg)
But what is up with the TRK in the 530 ? It seem to be about 90 deg out in my example below.
Its 3:51 AM !! Itâs late ⊠what am I missing being half asleep ??
====
Duhhhh Just realized, TRK needs you to be moving to calculate !!
As soon as I slewed up, and started flying towards the VOR, TRK updated to the correct value
(I had slewed onto KIAD at setup, and TRK was refecting that slew ) - My Bad
Iâm NOT deleting this post â itâs taken 3 Hours produce âŠ
IT DOES HOWEVER SHOW , I think, that both 530 & 430 are in agreement ???
Thanks for not deleting/editing. Kind of like my maths teaching telling me to show my work, itâs useful to see how someone comes to their conclusions, and itâs true when people say you learn more from failure than success.
Yes, itâs very obvious and simple once you figure it out.
VOR bearing are static. Your TRK, is calculated by the GPS from consecutive Position information, as is Ground speed.
Same reason your GPS compass in the car, does not display correctly till you are moving !!
