PMS50 GTN750 Project

Are there any Simvars that belong to the GTN750 which could be used in combination with a Stream Deck?

I decided to also purchase the TDS GTN750. If they do not have an agreement with Garmin they would be going down fast as they are using the Garmin installer so my guess is they have something. I got this one because it will show the bezel if you want so that may work on my touch screen. We will see soon.

You find it odd because absolutely nobody has said that.

Maybe not those exact words, but I ALWAYS read stuff like ā€œI am not buying product ____… Come on! It’s almost as much as the sim itself!ā€ THAT kind of thinking is ridiculous, considering the sim is nothing more than a platform. Like I said, those people should try P3D. That’s a whole different ballgame of how much you are gonna spend if you want to get the most out of THAT platform. I have very limited experience with X-Plane, but that one… while not quite as drastic as P3D, it’s comparable.

It is interesting to hear your opinion about both devices in comparison.

Yeah, but with all due respect, those two statements are not in any way synonymous and absolutely nobody has said developers should give away things for free or ā€œcheapā€. Nobody.

Give away, no… but there are a few users here I can think of that literally said the aircraft shouldn’t be more than $10-$20 because they spent money on the sim and peripherals. I am not making this up.

I agree, Its a platform.
Here is an example for X-plane

We keep bringing up irrelevant topics. There are other 650/750’s for flight sim. They cost the same. That cost is half of this. That’s a direct comparison and the only useful one.

Ultimately the market will decide. I think the developer has priced himself out of a lot of sales. I think he’d get way more than double the sales at half the price, which would be exactly where other 750’s are priced. But whatever, I’ve said my piece and since I’m not a buyer at $100 I will leave this thread.

All you need to know about X-Plane and how much it costs if you ā€œwant it all.ā€ And this is simply what is available on the Steam Marketplace…

Sadly this thread is now only about who want’s to pay what amount and which price is justified.
I liked the discussion more when it was more about the Software itself

I fully agree. Can we bury this for now? The price has been set. Some are happy, some aren’t. Let’s talk about the product itself!

I love that ETA for destination is now functional. Here is an interesting question. Is VNAV coupling for AP a thing on the real unit? I believe I have read something along those lines when it comes to Flight1’s implementation of this via Garmin Trainer on P3D, but I haven’t really ever been in need to use VNAV in small GA aircraft I fly with GTN750 in P3D to try it (Bonanza, Comanche, Cherokee - the A2A birds)… And if so, is this something THIS implementation within MSFS can support in the future? From my understanding, it’s advisory right now. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Great Addon, I discovered it last week and been having so much fun with it.

I was ready to pay for it, but sadly I find it as well too expensive, so I will stick with the basic version of it.

You can fly coupled approaches with the real 750 where it drives a Garmin AP and flies the approach for you, straight through to the full missed. Not sure about strictly VNAV profiles.

If only the basic had weather radar, it’s the only premium feature i care about, but it’s ok since it’s a very good device for free

I wouldn’t like to add up what I have spent on fsx over the 10 years I used it,

However the 1000’s of hours flying more than worth it

Sadly I wiped most of it When I built a new pc a few months ago … reality was I would never go back to it!!

Some comments do make me smile though about the potential cost of add ons for msfs 20 and it hasn’t really started yet

As always though everyone’s entitled to an opinion.

I too had (still have actually) a rather healthy sum spent on FSX ā€œpremiumā€ aircraft. Hopefully some of those (like Eaglesoft’s SR22 and a Cessna 337 Skymaster from a publisher I forget) will make it over to MSFS as fully functional (native) models.

The Just Flight Arrows seem to have set the bar so far for GA aircraft; they are really nice to fly.

There’s way more stuff than what you see on the Steam Marketplace. Nonetheless ā€˜good start!’
