Welcome to the 223rd flight in Gunpilot’s new SHORTER series of Challenging flights, carrying on from the past nearly 5 years of events that have outlasted all other flight planners.
Flight Details:
This is it. The last hurrah. The final descent into the jungle’s most unhinged collection of airstrips — the legendary Ghost Strips of PNG. If you’ve made it this far, congratulations: you’re either a skilled bush pilot or a certified lunatic with a death wish and a fondness for duct tape.
Strap yourself into the Super 900 Grand Caravan — because that’s what your brain will need after this flight. You’ll be dodging rogue cassowaries, landing on runways that look suspiciously like hiking trails, and praying your landing gear doesn’t get eaten by a termite mound the size of a Toyota Hilux.
Expect turbulence (doesn’t Gunpilot’s weather always deliver 
). Expect confusion. Expect a local villager named Gary to wave you in with a machete and a grin. One strip ends in a clump of trees. Another starts in a swamp. One’s just a suspiciously flat patch of grass that smells like aviation fuel and regret.
This is Gunpilot’s final challenge. No autopilot. No second chances. Just you, your Caravan, and the kind of flying that makes insurance companies cry.

The Texas Turbine Super 900 Upgrade
The Texas Turbine Supervan 900 upgrade is a kit for the Cessna 208 Caravan that replaces the original engine with a more powerful Honeywell TPE331-12JR, a Hartzell 110-inch four-blade propeller, and other components to significantly boost performance. The upgrade offers improvements such as increased cruise speed, shorter take-off distances, a faster rate of climb, and increased static thrust. This conversion enhances overall efficiency, allowing for longer cruise distances for the same fuel consumption and lower per-hour operating costs over time.
Come 15 mins before the start time for this event so you can grab the mod and install for the flight.
*Again, a packaged up WEATHER file has been developed and included along with the flight plan, negating any need for anyone to dial in weather settings, as well as ensuring that all pilots are experiencing exactly the same weather conditions. The Weather Preset file is located in #gunpilots-events (click this link Discord) to be taken there. Load this file directly into the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 directory on your PC in the PRESETS folder which is located within the WEATHER folder in the aforementioned MSFS2024 directory .
