Points of Interest

Are points of interest just markers or are they also areas that are digitally enhanced? If so, do they affect performance (FPS) if you are not operating in the vicinity of a POI? E.G. if I opt for the full suite of POIs in Europe would that slow my FPS in the USA?

This is not a Technical Support Response

Generally speaking the POIs are handcrafted items, i.e., Eiffel Tower and not Photogrammetry.

They wouldn’t be a big drag on performance in singular terms. There are other factors like Terrain Level of Detail that impact you system wide first.

It’s really a matter of coding. All things considered, there is a visibility bubble defined - objects outside that are not rendered, or if they’re inside but just barely in view, they’re rendered as low quality polygons to preserve system performance and cycles for other things closer to the player. Same thing for air/surface traffic - objects are created and destroyed dynamically as they enter the visibility or existence bubble radius.
