I really want to trying flying the cessna 172 skyhawk without the garmin! When I do buy the game, imma have to buy the deluxe right away.
For now, I love flying with the 172 (g1000) and the 152. The G1000 is like training wheels, I absolutely love that they included it (this being my first flight sim). After 10 or so hours, I’ve cut back on the navaids and am starting to fly the 152!
I’ve always been a big fan of the Cirrus SR22. I like all the planes, but I would have to say the Cirrus SR22 is my favorite. Instead of paying $800,000 for the real thing, I can fly a simulated Cirrus for $120.
Assuming you are using $1 game pass. If you are SURE you are going to buy the full game, there’s no financial reason to not buy it NOW rather than when game pass ends… You ARE going to spend $120 regardless, it doesn’t matter if you spend that now or later (unless you NEED this $120 now for something etc). Go and enjoy that 172!
For now, for me it is the Bonanza G36. Overall this I find to be the best performing (IRL and in sim) aircraft that I have tried so far. That being said I only have access to the Standard version at the moment so this may change as I soon will be getting the Deluxe version. Normally I would choose the DA40 for VFR sightseeing but this plane at the moment does not have a operational A/P or a least for me as none of the A/P buttons work.
The C172 Skyhawk with steam gauges. But let’e face it, as much as I adore this sim, it really isn’t because of the default aircraft. I really cannot wait until the 3rd party developers start pumping out the study-level planes. Then this sim will really shine.
Oh, I’ve been on the game pass for pc subscription since beta. I want to hold off on this purchase til a sale or something. Until then, there’s plenty of planes to fly and experience anyhow.
And I do need that $120 (actually more) now. MSFS has already made me purchase a new monitor (amazing visuals need an equally amazing monitor) and flights sticks with a separate throttle (everywhere is sold out). I’m going all in (at least for a casual simmer)!
But yeah, once I’m ready to buy it i’ll want those extra planes! I appreciate the encouragement!
So far? The 152 and the CJ4. But like mdilauro said, I really am looking forward to study level planes. The current ones don’t feel right.
Edit: After a week I’ve changed my mind a bit. The CJ4 got boring really quickly. I’d say my three go-to are now the 152, 172, and the Cap10. Cap10 is a lot of fun, just got done flying formation with some random person in Sedona. Cheers whoever you are lol.
The TBM 930 is my go to bird. Its flight dynamics are among the best
of the ones I’ve tried, it’s fast and its systems depth, for a default aircraft,
is pretty good.
Zlin Shock Ultra. Can take off and land just about anywhere! And with the flaps up and 3/4 throttle, it behaves very much like my (real) Corben Baby Ace.
definately the tbm 930
the g3000 is finally a FMS you can easily use, even with some parts missing in the out of the box aircraft. Amazing aircraft, in real and in the sim.
The Pipistrel Virus is actually a bunch of fun. Doesn’t look like it would be comfortable in real life for long-hauls, because of the seating position, but it’s great for sight-seeing in the game.
