[Polls] Expert Series 2: Piper M600

How is 1.0.8 coming on?

I just bought the M600. I had read beforehand that the textures weren’t supposed to be great, but I decided to go ahead and get it anyway. I have to say I’m pretty disappointed. It’s mainly the upper white cockpit texture that looks really bad. I’m really surprised that Microsoft settles for this kind of texture quality.
My graphics settings are all set to ultra, so that can’t be the issue.

Looks like this has been patched to 1.0.8. Does anyone notice any difference?

No changelog ?

Nothing

Ah there we go. No mention of any texture improvements so, no need to rent again, thank you :+1:

So far I´ve had 2 in flight engine failures in this plane without exceeding any parameters and I´ve flown it less than 10 hours

I also had an engine failure in a climb in what must have been my third career mission as an employee and I don’t recall exceeding the limits and I used the auto-throttle most of the time, even on take-offs.

Turned off the failures in the EFB after that. Career Mode has its own failure modelling for owned aircraft (freelance), I’ll stick to that.

Why are some the interior textures of this plane from the Play Station 1 era?
The Sounds design is great. The engine and flight dynamics might be great too from what I have heard (and the few hours I have flown it) but with those textures…

In the EFB > checklist, connecting GPU is mentioned. But I do not find any click spots on the exterior or any option in the EFB.
Furthermore the manual provided at https://flightsimulator.azureedge.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/M600-Manual.pdf states the following:
“As well as the 3 on-board systems, electrical supply can also come from a Ground Power Unit (GPU). This can be requested [ADD IN DESCRIPTION]. When connected…”

So was the GPU never implemented but they forgot to remove it from the checklist and manual?

If you’re going to make a claim, please illustrate what you mean with pictures. (The Playstation 1 textures comment). It might also help to understand how much graphics and system memory you have in your system.

Fair enough, here is a more detailed report of the issue and the specs and settings:

PC/Steam
Ryzen 7800X3D
32GB RAM DDR5
9070XT (16GB) / 4070 Super (12GB) (both GPUs tested with same result even on different PCs)
All settings are on high with some on ultra (like texture resolution), No FSR, No DLSS

Since the initial report I have removed the community folder and even done a full reinstall of MSFS24 after removing all the old files and folder to make sure nothing else is intervening.

The photos below are all from the vanilla MSFS24 (no mods, no addons) which was installed a few hours ago. All the planes are downloaded. (however streaming them also gives the same result).

So first the Piper M600. All the textures of the columns, ceiling and the top panel are either very low res or not loading correctly. This becomes more evident when the sun is low and light comes at an angle which shows the blocky nature of the texture used.
Notice that the white parts (it is the same in other colors of interior) has a much lower resolution than the asphalt of the base game runway. You can see the individual blocks of low res texture.

Now for comparison, I am adding two more photos of two other base game planes, same place, same time of the day, same weather and the same spot, same zoom level.

First the PC-12
you can see high rest textures on the columns and the interior. Much higher that the asphalt on the runway.

Second TBM930
Again, there are no visible blocks and the interior is of a much higher resolution than the runway.

As a result, the issue is unique to FSReborn M600, all variants, where either they used low res textures or for some reason the full res textures never load properly.

This is how it looks on Xbox Series X

The thread is full of images showing how bad it is. Nobody who owns it or has ever rented it can possibly say otherwise. People may say they don’t care but nobody can say they aren’t seeing it. And I am 100% sure it will never be made good.

It’s from a good dev with a good reputation, so I am hopeful that this will be sorted out. Maybe it was rushed for a deadline or a launch. The example of GPU that I provide above shows that there were more planned that didn’t make it. I assume textures also fall into that category.

The back of the seat, yeah, I’ve seen better, but I wouldn’t personally complain.

The first picture you showed, though, that looks spot on to me? It’s a pebbled surface, typical in many aircraft. You might want to walk around a tarmac someday. My old Cherokee had that plastic design. No complaints from me there. Looks just like it.

Oh, I didn’t realize the seat was from a different post…

The seat could be better, it’s missing it’s normal texture. The stripe is painted. The only way it could get straighter would be to use a decal. Yeah, the instrument panel hood looks pretty bad, again, the normal texture is pretty bad, and it’s too shiny (comp file). And yeah, that arm rest arm looks FS2004.

What’s interesting is the instrument panel hood in @Suren8602’s picture looks great compared to what you’re showing. You can see the stitching, not shiny… If you weren’t on Xbox I’d ask if you’re using a freeware livery. So it’s interesting there’s two different levels of detail we’re seeing for these two different sets of instrument panel textures.

If I get close to that stitching on PC, it is almost as bad as on xbox. The visual quality on PC, and in comparison with base game planes is so low that I would return it and ask for a refund if I had the choice. It is impossible to sit in the cockpit and ignore those low texture surfaces.

Consoles use a lower level of texture detail than PC to have an acceptable performance. If the original textures for PC are already poor, then it only gets worse when it is transferred to consoles.
