[Polls] Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Marketplace Feedback

No, seriously, what are you asking for that we don’t already have?

We’re not talking about multi million dollar purchases here. We’re talking about the $5-50 market. That’s a whole different thing. Most of those purchases are leases with support built in. Perhaps eggs was a bad example, but how many things do you buy from Walmart or Amazon and expect support on them after the fact? I mean support from the manufacturer.

Totally agree on the refund though. Refunds should always be offered no matter what. If someone can’t stand behind their product enough to offer refunds, typically I’d not buy it, but the software market is very odd there. Until recently there was no choice as no one offered that. Valve has opened that up and started setting a new standard. MS has not felt the need to follow suit though. Likely because there’s no competition at all. They’ll only offer refunds if bothered about it, and then only rarely (apparently?). Valve has it automated now which is nice.

That is a good touch by valve. Let’s hope it sets the example as you suggested.

If you are referring to Steam’s 2 hours/2 weeks refund window, they were effectively forced into that by EU legislation.

How come others are not? Surely even if you are a company registered in a different country, you have to abide by that country you operate out of’s rules? Eg Microsoft

MS abide by the 14 day right of withdrawal also.

The difference is Valve went above, and beyond making it much easier for users to refunds.

Microsoft have chosen not to, meaning a more manual method be employed. It could be a link or button embedded within the Marketplace somewhere. They can’t take money from you card there, so putting it back should be no obstacle.

Yeah, I don’t want any refunds. If I have bought the aircraft or whatever, it’s my choice so I live with it and wait for an upgrade. I just have learned very quickly to do my research.
