When I turn on my sim at the moment it takes about three lots of the intro video.
When it’s loaded you then have to wait for the main desktop to load.
When in the mission planning screen and go to select an aircraft you have to wait.
When you zoom into the map to plan a flight plan you have to wait,
Select fly and you have to wait.
When you get to and click ready to fly you have to wait.
When stood outside the aircraft things are still loading and you have to wait.
When selecting settings and click controls you have to wait, and all this before touching an aircraft switch.
Depending on circumstances the above waiting varies but it’s still to long.
Could I please ask the forum moderators not to move this post to some far flung part of the forum and never gets read which is what normally happens.
Ok rant over but there is still a long way to go to get MSFS where it should be. I’m hoping for big things in SU3.
Just as a positive note I’ve had many happy hours flying GA in 2024..
Well the mods did move my post, I’ve never posted one in the right place yet, but the main thing is 2024 get sorted for Xbox and PC and if what I read is to go on the the sim has a long way to go.
From my personal experience I can fly GA but not with out its issues and no where near where it should be and I’m expecting big things from SU3.
My big concern is will it ever get sorted and will I be able to fly my PMDG B737 and other high system depth aircraft from good 3rd party airports like I could on 2020 on XboxX no problem.
Platform: Series X
Connection: 4gbps optic Fibre
Cache: 200GB
I don’t know what happened, but career runs very poorly, especially with the Boeing. In the beginning I could finish flights, but now it’s just impossible.
Hello - Coming back to 2024 to see if things had improved to switch from 2020, and I see my trees still have some issues (looks like Minecraft) after a quick fly around. I am currently doing a reinstall to see if that would help but looking for feedback. I’m on a very high-end PC and 2GiB fiber so no issues from a performance standpoint. Should we be good now or waiting for SU3?
That screenshot was flying just outside of KRDU where I live in FS2024 and as you can see flying around the same area in FS2020 is sooooooo much better, this is what I do not understand?
Yeah for whatever reason the photogrammetry in 2024 in some areas includes trees that look like “rock trees”. 2020 seemed to do a much better job of separating the trees from the photogrammetry buildings.
I’d agree about the “TIN Trees” - Each new WU or CU Update seems to add more of these monstrosities that really detract for the flying experience, especially around airports, e.g. Trenton Mercer (KTTN):
So, should we report this problem? I don’t see why we are going backwards, does SU3 fix this… I feel like I am in the matrix, nothing makes sense anymore!
Since SU2 arrived in MSFS 2024 I have had no issues with regards to CTD’s. Today two flights, two CTD’s. Anyone else experiencing this issue lately? Had to revert to MSFS 2020 to get flights in today. I do not have anything in my community folder nor did I recently download any third party content. I guess I’ll try deleting rolling cache again… see if that helps.
Deleting the rolling cache is a good first check. SU3 is getting close and seems stable per most reports (it has eliminated CTDs I was having, for one). You might also benefit.
MSFS2024, with SU2, is still not good enough. So far as I’m concerned it’s still unusable - 8 months after the sim was released! I regret buying it. I try it occasionally, but end up going back to MSFS2020. 2024 has too many problems. My favourite plane - the Twin Otter - is awful in 2024. Why on earth could MS / Asobo not utilise the Aerosoft version. Whilst not perfect, Aerosoft did (eventually), get to a decent product - so WHY NOT UTILISE THAT VERSION for MSFS2024? Based on progress thus far, I cant see me giving up MSFS2020 for some time. Just crossing my fingers that SU16 doesn’t ruin that sim. If it does, I’ll be looking for a new hobby.
I’m on SU3 v1.5.13.0, but I suspect this aspect of the sim can be seen in any build. I was flying with AI-Offline traffic enabled / Air Traffic @ Medium and saw this in LittleNavMap:
Now, while this was amusing to watch in LittleNavMap as I was in my Curtiss C-46, waaaaay below at ~ 7,000 ft, it does make me wonder about the resources being used to create this “chase” 100,000 ft above me & that is not being rendered on my TV monitor.
Since 2024 is so resource intensive, any CPU / GPU / Memory that is being used for something that will never be seen seems to be a waste, and the removal of such threads an opportunity to release resources to be used by threads that will be rendered.
I have the same… since SU2 I never had one CTD. Last few days I have multiple a day. I think they changed something on the server side as I see no other reason why there are CTD’s all of a sudden
Btw I noticed more strange things last few days. In career passenger transport with 737 max - when starting the mission it failed due leaving the platform or even worse you let the plane crash. Didn’t had that bug for month.
