Just the Vram settings so Texture and Shadow resolution
As with all previous updates objects used by official airports are missing again. They don´t appear in editor so they are not displayed in game and airports show several âunknownâ assets entries when opened at editor. They existed with SU1, they didn´t with SU2, they existed again with SU3 and they are gone again with SU4. What a joke⌠Is it really that hard to check for missing dependencies before releasing the updates?
Cheers
Getting lots of visual stuttering when in city, but smooth out in the farm land areas. Never recall it being like this in past. i7 12700kf - 5080 - 32gb ddr5 , nvme m.2 ssd. It happens in any graphic setting i tried so i dont think its my pc. Mainly or only when looking left or right/up down with camera.
EDITED
If youâd ID the city, Iâd be morre than happy to test mine. I havenât noticed stuttering anywhere in ages, but then my setup is quite âoptimizedâ.
If anyone even noticed my previous post - after a couple of hours of AI assisted troubleshooting produced absolutely NOTHING, I found the solution myself.
I simply enabled everything under âMy Libraryâ in the Marketplace. The wind power generating farms suddenly reappeared all over the world!
Lesson learned: Donât pick up anything in that fragile items category- âMy Libraryâ, if you donât want to break something. ![]()
EDIT - i think lowering textures from ultra to high solved it, i think it was a vram issue and being on ultra maxed it out causing the stutters, not 100% sure though.
Its mostly when panning camera around ( possilbly only its hard to tell, but definitly noticable when panning the camera), wellington nz was the place but i dont think that has any thing to do with it.
Just flew my DA40 at very low altitudes all over central Wellington, without any noticeable stuttering or other objectionable characteristics when fast/quick panning inside or outside the cockpit. I paused it for the screen shot.
I have an I7 12700k with an RTX 3070 8GB GPU. Not the greatest, and overall a pretty average PC Store version, Non-VR system. Your GPU is far better than mine!!
I suspect that your issue is possibly settings related. If youâd be interested in switching perhaps to a more performance/set-up oriented thread, we could dig deeper? But please be aware that I am NOT an FPS chaser. I am perfectly happy with anything greater than or equal to 30FPS.
Wow. DLSS 4.5 with SU4 is magic in VR. Even on performance, 4070S, 14600K, 48DDR4, m.2, VD Quest3, godlike +15%. Vram stays under 85%, Airbus 320neo EHAM-EGLL, with BATC, lodâs 200/100.
Well done Asobo and Nvidia.
I noticed the Addon support module got updated again a few days ago on my X Box and it seems to have improved things. Airports and general lighting (clear sky daytime) seems better. Objects like windsocks actually look like windsocks and runways and taxiways have good texture. Stuttering seems less and the only hiccups Im having, I am fairly certain its loading of 3rd party scenery. I havenât flown repeatedly in the same areas at all so maybe the hiccups go away over time.
The other thing Iâve noticed is that, for some reason, city downtown areas look like theyâve been emphasized to look better while PG just outside of the downtown regions (like both NY and Albany) doesnt look as good. PG quality still has amazing variance from great to terrible. Today I was at Savannah GA which I qualify is âjust OKâ on X Box X with sufficient bandwidth flying the Orion. maybe itâd be better with the C152. anywayâŚprogress I think⌠but please, Asobo/MS, get all the PG up to this standard (south of KAPA)
Terrible flicker especially in night scenes and lights. I prefer 310.4 K/DLAA/DFR 25%/ pimax super. It looks much better, and sometimes you can see the ghosts.
I cannot for the life of me to get MSFS 2024 to setup rolling cache in the sim. Every time i tey to set up a folder for it it resorts to the default one whuch doesnt exist. I have enough space on my C drive as well.
Just went through this. Recreate the default rolling cache directory in windows explorer. The sim has to find that directory before you can change it to another directory.
How do i recreate the default directory when i can t see what it isâŚ
Under âC:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalStateâ
delete the localprofile file and launch the Sim. It will reset the RC to its default location under
âC:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCacheâ
Then go into settings and change it to where ever you like.
Thatâs a problem inherent with variable refresh, aka VRR flicker. It seems to be a problem mostly with OLED monitors, but I saw it on a mini-LED as well. Standard backlit monitors donât seem affected by it. I donât know enough about the technical aspects to explain what is happening, but can say that a fixed or minimally adjusting refresh rate will be the only prevention. I.e. A 5 fps swing will not flicker as bad (if at all) as a 30 fps swing. Some monitors are better at handling it than others, and Rtings typically addresses it in their reviews of said types of monitors.
I have a standard ASUS led monitor, and mine flickers with variable refresh turned on in the Windows 11 graphics settings.
Rock solid with it turned off.
Horrible perfomance since they killed some servers, its like there was no âSU4â. Feels like big scam to all customers.. Really sad!
As in âMicrosoft shut down servers supporting MSFSâ? Got any source for that?
Thanks, I wasnât aware of that. Since those are âonlyâ multiplayer servers it should not affect the overall performance. But it could increase stuttering having more players around you, of course. Iâd be more concerned if content delivering servers would get turned off - especially with MSFS 2024 streaming so much data. Regardless, it would have been nice to get an announcement for changes like that before action is taken.
I have tons of stutters in PS5 now.
