All I want is a mission editor for free flight so we can do the activities without the poorly made reputation and economy system. I don’t think they will ever improve career, so let us play with the tools!
Imagine if we could create our own firefighting campaign of chained missions and share that with others. SAR missions with hand picked sites that the sim can randomly choose from, so we know they are landable. Aerial advertising with banners which aren’t nonsense at locations that make sense. Medical flights where you fly into remote locations and evacuate to cities with advanced medical centres. Charters to holiday destinations or referencing real events like F1 races. Sight-seeing tours that go to multiple interesting places.
Imagine if we could write our own dialogue so we don’t have the awful lines we have now. Do some auto-vetting if they are worried about it being offensive or whatever.
Sorry, rant over, I just get a bit annoyed we have this great framework that is locked behind this half baked mode.
It may well be that Microsoft is reluctant to put too much emphasis on wildfires, given the devastating fires we have seen across the US and Europe in recent years. Using disasters like these as a form of entertainment is something many customers could understandably find uncomfortable.
It is also worth remembering that the massive wildfires near Bordeaux came frighteningly close to Asobo’s own offices, so this is not necessarily an abstract subject for the people involved.
If they advertised something that isn’t in game and continue to advertise it in the opening trailer, then it’s only one thing and that’s false advertising.
Perhaps it would be in their best interests to alter the opening trailer, if it’s that much of an issue for people.
It’s a sensitive subject, but the feature is putting out the fires, not starting them. The player is acting as the hero. Heck, I think it would be an awesome idea for Microsoft to donate $1 to a Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund for every virtual “fire” the playerbase puts out in the sim. That would be a win-win for all involved.
It was a promised feature indeed, at launch. Not only that, even if they did use the excuse of not advancing the firefighting aspect as a whole. Enabling users to at least have the basic features and configurations should be a non-issue. As well as fixing inaccurately flying aircraft that also too, have had the issues reported since the November launch. I.e. the CL-415 for example has had a significant engine performance issue that’s got some 50 votes and nobody has even acknowledged it from MS/Asobo. The S-64 for example, had the feature of it’s snorkels and tank when it was originally given to MS/Asobo and it was disabled in the launch edition according to Blackbird at the request of MS/Asobo. So again, it just seems like it’s more of a, “sweep it under the rug,” sort of situation the more you look at firefighting in this sim at the moment. There’s too much adding up that firefighting aircraft, not just the aspect of firefighting has also been ignored for 2 years, with zero acknowledgment or explanation as to why or any sort of information as to why that is. I encourage people to look at the CL-415 underperforming bug thread and how old that is and it’s still not fixed. Same thing with people complaining about the S-64.
It’s a bit mind-boggling that the S-64 putting out a fire remains in the Intro cinematic when you can’t even do that in sim. With every passing Sim Update, the head scratching becomes more and more common.
Exactly. It’s a slap in our faces every time we start up the sim as aerial firefighting enthusiasts. At this juncture, there really is zero excuse for not enabling the configurations for helicopters to a) carry buckets in free flight or b) allow aircraft like the S-64 and CH-47s to have tanks/snorkels and buckets functioning in them. People also seem to forget that 95% of the CH-47s included in the sim are also firefighting operators.
I 've noticed that the PSVR2 in BETA SU6 was super clean and crispy but since the actual Lunch of SU6 the quality is somewhat back to SU5. Any idea why that happened?
It is the same as the final beta. I remember the very first beta release to be a tiny bit more sharp, but I could be mistaken since I was on vacation in between the updates.
There was some issue with FSR4. We don’t know if that ever was active on console. But they removed it at some point again.
I say it is sharper than GT7 now. No way I ever go back to 2D again.
On PlayStation in VR the pop-up tablet does have extremely low resolution, like a huge zoom factor so that only part of the image fits on the screen. Happens any time when I first open it.
I noticed that when I change the tablet size and go back to the initial size ( I use S) it fixes itself.
Not even close, i have video footage from Beta and from Now and the different is HUGE. I cant find any statement why this happened so i was hopping someone from the official team can give us some insight.
Yesterday i was approaching my terminal and the PAPI Lights were so blurry i count believe it.
In Su6 Beta it was crispy and clear from miles away. I am very curious to what happened.
Are you talking about how it no longer boots up again? That’s because when the sim updates, it reverts back to the broken version of the 777. Go to My Library and disable it, and then reenable it for it to function properly again, hope that helps!
On a side note, I hope my $70 PMDG 737-800 I bought almost 2 months ago on PS5 and still can’t fly finally gets fixed soon.
Running the latest update on Xbox-X. No difference in terms of TLOD / rendering. Airport ground textures still as bad as they were before the latest update. Sigh.
