[Polls] Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 6 Feedback (PC/Xbox/PS5)

Are you talking about how it no longer boots up again? That’s because when the sim updates, it reverts back to the broken version of the 777. Go to My Library and disable it, and then reenable it for it to function properly again, hope that helps!

On a side note, I hope my $70 PMDG 737-800 I bought almost 2 months ago on PS5 and still can’t fly finally gets fixed soon.

1.8.16 is out for all platforms

Not seeing it yet on the PC here in the Northeast…

Nothing in Australia on Xbox

Just downloading it now in the U.K.

Update was only 400mb on xbox.? And version info is now blank. I have no idea what version I’m running. ?

Running the latest update on Xbox-X. No difference in terms of TLOD / rendering. Airport ground textures still as bad as they were before the latest update. Sigh.

On steam, it seems it was pushed only on the beta branch.

same heree no updated

This latest update broke a few things in my game.

During the loading screen, I get my normal FPS. When I’m in the menu, it drops to 20 FPS.

I completely uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, and nothing works. My other games perform normally.

My installation has done that for years, I just let it run its course and hope it works well when I’m flying.

The sim has never looked better and performed this well since update 6.1. Many thanks to the MS/Asobo team.

I play on PS5.

When I turn the camera from the cockpit to the left or right, I always see how the textures of the earth are loaded. It’s constant. I can’t dive into flight and get high on terrestrial views without loading textures. I flew to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, it’s not New York, it’s the usual desolate northern nature, but everything is loaded anyway and there are always blurred textures in the distance.

Is that the case for everyone?

Xbox series X, I’m getting the low memory warnings more regularly since SU6.1, especially when spawning into thlrd party airports. It gets a bit stuttery on initial load into the airport and then the warning appears. However, once I restart the flight, everything is smoother and the memory warnings don’t come back. It’s almost as though too many processes are happening all at once on the first load in, and then the restart, processes have already been done that need to be done and memory usage is lower.

Nah, I was referring to lack of navdata on 777

For a “minor update” with SU6.1 they have borked VSYNC + DLSS framegen. Which now tanks frame rates to unusable with that combination. I have posted a bug.

BTW, this message is the biggest immersion killer ever!

6.1 is total rubbish on Xbox X. Blurry terrain sigh . Disabled avionics again. Nothing good whatsoever. I’m getting so sick of this one step forward 3 steps backwards routine.

Honestly, I haven’t noticed the deterioration you’re describing. In fact, the LOD—at least in Italian scenery—seems slightly improved.
I’ve only tried one flight with the PMDG 737-800 so far; I’ll test it with other aircraft on different routes.
Perhaps, as is usually the case with updates, the cache needs to be cleared.
By the way, the servers were very slow this morning.
