[Polls] Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 6 Feedback (PC/Xbox/PS5)

Subject: Critical profile sync issue after latest update - Unacceptable lack of communication

I am writing this to express my deep frustration regarding a severe issue introduced by the latest update. The simulator completely fails to recognize my user profile, treating me like a new player and asking me to start the pilot setup from scratch. I haven’t played for 4 months, and now all my 2026 progress, career data, and flight hours are inaccessible. I refuse to start from zero and risk overwriting my original cloud data.

What makes this situation incredibly stressful and unacceptable is that the official troubleshooting method recommended on Zendesk dates back to 2024. It is an ancient, outdated procedure that forces paying customers to manually dig into system folders (like deleting StreamedPackages) to clear local cache. I tried it, and it did NOT work.

This is a critical flaw caused entirely by your software and your server-side infrastructure, making it your absolute responsibility. It is incredibly frustrating to see no clear, real-time communication about a concrete fix or a specific timeline for resolution.

We paid full price for this product, and we should not be left in the dark or forced to fix your bugs manually. Asobo and Microsoft need to resolve this server authentication issue immediately and keep the community properly informed.

Proceeding through the initial setup screens may allow the system to reconnect to the profile. During this process, the pilot’s avatar image remained unchanged for me. Upon advancing further, the game recognized my account and prompted to continue, which successfully restored the profile screen and intact data.

This is shared strictly as an my individual observation of what occurred during my testing, rather than a guaranteed fix. Others may experience different results when attempting to navigate through the setup screens.

Everything is looking good so far! I have not tried everything so… we’ll see, but the graphics are absolutely stunning—the ocean waves at Tokyo Bay look incredibly realistic. Best of all, VR is working great, even during high-speed, very low-altitude flight in the F-14 jet! :ocean::airplane:

I’ve got to admit, I’m really impressed at how far performance and stability has improved on PS5 since May alone. Career Mode is actually playable on long haul missions and larger plane models, I’ve also been able to increase certain graphic settings from their minimum setting.

The memory issues are now very rare as opposed to doing a fresh boot of the sim, loading into a mission and immediately running out of resources. I’ve flown multiple long haul flights back to back before seeing this issue occur and it isn’t consistant, which is great. These improvements also benefit avionics as inputted configurations aren’t forgotten.

As the Simulator evolves more issue will arise and need fixing but right now things are pretty solid. It’s easy to log-in and complain when things are wrong but you never see half as much positivity when things improve. To all those who said expecting Flight Sim to work well on PS5 is insane: I say it looks like Asobo have listened and done it.

Which aircraft are you using

737-Max recently, Cessna Citation Longitude before that. I will say, I just landed at Dallas Fort Worth with the settings up a bit on the 737-Max and while I didn’t run out of memory the graphic streaming got to the point where I didn’t have a cockpit, had to taxi to parking in 3rd person

I’m a GA/VFR flyer and would like to add that my setup is fabulous atm. Performance has never been better. I have few add-ons, couple 2020 aircraft, (Bijan, few from Marketplace) and run a box stock off the shelf blue store PC. MSFS 24 hardly ever gets much praise, but it is due from me.Thanks for the most realistic sim available in 2026 :smiley:Moderate settings, mostly high, some off entirely, never modified any config, no Bios or anything of the sort. Windows updates stay current, Drivers, Microsoft store…etc. My findings are the less you mess with the better, and the hardest is to stay within your hardware’s capability. I’d be hard pressed to believe that any PC set within it’s capability won’t perform just as well. Modify if you want,I get it, it’s your puppy, but if it won’t run Box stock vanilla first, aircraft included, it won’t run consistently or long term with modifications you make or continually bombard with add-ons from every direction. I started from scratch again, staying stock with nothing added, found my sweet spot in Dev mode, and then slowly added back 1 thing at a time. Fly a few days, and if things were ok, add another and repeat. Today, for whatever the reasons, it has become fantastic in visuals and performance with everything I’ve added back minus a few I trashed. There is no snake oil. I’ve found that out the hard way since Nov. I’m convinced that I’m not that lucky by no means..Thanks MSFS and all that made this possible for 65.00 us…I’m in for the long haul…There’s NOTHING better available overall atm…Nothing…Accept it..Happy flying all…
