Flying to Irazú Volcano from east. Ultra graphics settings. Anybody found these heavy contrast of image quality?
Either a communications problem between your PC and microsoft’s server, or bad source satellite imagery (probably loads of clouds there if you check on Bing maps).
If landscape is looking really bad in an area, I’d recommend looking up the areas in Bing maps. There are areas where they have horribly low resolution satellite imagery. In those cases, the AI in the game just doesn’t know what to do with it and it looks horrible. I’ve found a couple of those areas already, including one where literally half a town is missing in game sure to the source imagery being so poor. This may be what type encountering.
Honestly said, it’s not just limited to Costa Rica in this part of the world. I don’t think bing maps spent too much money on the mapping of central and south America.
However I’m hopeful it’s going to improve as it’s such a wonderful area to fly!
Nb: make sure you check out the hand made freeware Costa Rica airports over on flightsim.to as they’re near payware quality. In the livery section you’ll also liveries unique to Costa Rica as well. Inc Training school, police, small airlines.
Yup I reported this! Make sure you do as well so they put it in the backlog.
Unfortunately there are lots of areas in Central America, South America, Africa and South East Asia and even some well known islands in the Pacific with bad satellite images.
Thanks a lot for your replies!
Also Europe, Switzerland for example… But remember, all of this is “Free”, some things will improve over time (others will break ). On P3D I use to have Megascenery Earth Add-ons, and those scenarios, also have a lot of inconsistency on the images, and have to pay for every single country or US State.
