I am seeing posts from simmers talking about “pop put” gauges that can be moved from panels to an external monitor. I would like to do this, but I never seem to be able to find a gauge that actually pops out so that I can drag it to the external monitor. Can someone advise how to accomplish this? Do all gauges have this pop out capability or just some of them? Many thanks for your help!
No, not everything can be popped out, but to answer your question, you would hold down the alt key on the right hand side of your keyboard.
When you do this, it will turn into a little plus sign in the magnify glass. Once you click on it, it will pop out. Again not all instruments pop out.
Glass displays will, PFD, MFD, G1000, G3000, etc… And there are some instruments that will.
Keep in mind, there is a performance hit seen by most once you pop a display out. Also, if you pop glass out (say a G1000 screen) you just get the glass display, not the bezel as well with the bottons.
We use other software for that (Air Manager).
I hope that helps.
Thanks for the detailed reply…I am stuck working this weekend, but I will try to check it out! I will look into Air Manager also…Not familiar with it…
I hope MSFS 2024 will do this natively. A lot of people would love to use a cheap second or third monitor. Even if the loss of FPS, it would be great to have the whole display moved over with the bezel. Not everything should require a 3rd party solution.
With the issue of this SU 13 issues…i am hoping MSFS 2024 is released by the late spring next year. I will update my PC then, and all will be great.
Air Manager seem a bit expensive…Is it worth it and does it work well? Thanks…
It’s worth it if you have touch screens / devices.
If you want to move the panels over to a screen that isn’t touch, then you gain no benefit from the bezels which would be touch enabled so really no point.
It doesn’t have to be a monitor plugged in directly, could use iPads and Tablets running Spacedesk (free) which makes them touch monitors.
It really depends on how you plan to use it as to whether or not it’s worth it.
There is a DEMO but only lets you try the basic 6 pack for a 152.
