Positive Findings with the SU1 Beta

Flight model must have changed, it feels much better in GA, you can actually Trim the plane out and have it settle down aside from influence from weather. Planes turn better and adding a little opposite rudder now feels as I expected.

Ground handling seems much better

Tail Numbers fixed

Photogrammetry is much more crisp.

several people are using 3rd party DLSS, I noticed this occurs in CTD more often. Therefore, I would like to inform everyone that if possible, use the original DLSS from msfs2024, this avoids CTD.

There is no such thing as 3rd party DLSS files. Everything DLSS is rolled out by NVIDIA and NVIDIA only.

I have been using numerous different DLSS versions/builds in MSFS2024 (stock, 3.8.10, latest Cyberpunk build and more) and they never caused a single CTD in SU1 beta or the main branch version.
From my 300+ hours of flying and testing MSFS2024 I learned that hardware configs (like overclocking, undervolting, RAM speeds and timings) and corrupted game files (like rolling cache and streamed packages) are the main reasons for CTDs.

Excellent observations. I too have noticed that if I have multiple CTDs when trying to use the sim, deleting and then recreating the rolling cache eliminates them. I’ve adjusted the size multiple times to see if smaller or larger is better. After running into multiple CTDs with a 256 GB rolling cache, I reduced it to 224, then 192, and now 128 GB. From my limited experience, 128 GB rolling cache seems to be the sweet spot for zero CTDs and ample room for cached data.

I’m not sure if any of those were in the release notes. Then we have had some cases where things were changed that went undocumented, so you never know.

Tail numbers being fixed was something Jummivana mentioned after the initial notes, so that was included.

I haven’t noticed a change in the flight model, I thought the GA flight model generally has been really solid since release day for the same reasons the OP mentions… So not sure why they feel it is better now.

Ground handling of the C172 has absolutely been modified, but airplanes are ‘server side’ updates, so it is possible that changed in live branch too. It actually turns now, rather than behaving like a 747 as it has the last few years… YAY.

I haven’t noticed any particular change in Photogrammetry, but that is probably regional, so maybe not everyone would see it depending on location.

Nah, have only 1 update is already available on Live version is PC-24, other aircraft is only on SU1 have new version for 18 aircraft

I’m from Brazil and the translation doesn’t do me any favors. really the DLSS are only from NVIDIA, I meant that with the original DLSS from FS2024 to 3.7, I have less CTD, when I put it to 310.1 I have more CTD than normal, this is with the SU1 beta. I think my problem is now clear.

I see good performance with v3.8.1 DLSS running SU1B1. No CTDs as of yet.

ground effect with GA aircraft is much MUCH better. you get realistic float if you dont bleed off enough speed on touchdown.

I just want to add the information that the new NVIDIA driver 572 seems to cause CTDs for people (me including). Reverting back to 566 fixed it and seems to be the best solution currently.

Adding an interesting observation. Sometime between the last time I played and last night, something changed with the career missions that were generating. I’m now seeing several of each kind, an abundance of medium cargo missions, and several of them following live time (which I haven’t tweaked, but until last night didn’t actually get).

Additionally, the stability and framerate with the newest Nvidia driver + DLSS version (using DLSS Swapper) seem to be much more consistent, even using an increased Sim Rate (enough frames to go to 16x without watching a slideshow on a 3080 at 4k! With readable avionics displays!)

Though, my copilot in my PC-12 is gigantic (knees clipping into the control panel) and also isn’t wearing his harness, so you win some you lose some. We’re not flying safely, but fast isn’t an issue anymore.
