I noticed on each IFR flight after takeoff on the ATC tab I keep seeing the request IFR clearance for Instrument FP option displayed and i know I’m on the assigned flight plan is this a glitch or a bug or something just wanted it brought to the developers attention thanks over all its really good

I could very well be wrong on this becase it has been a while since I have messed with ATC, but I think that option was added to allow you to ‘pick up’ and IFR flight plan while airborne.
For instance, if I file an IFR plan from KATL to KJFK but mid-flight I decide that I want to go to KPHL I can request the change from ATC.
Again, I might be very wrong on this. Might check it out myself to see if I am remembering correctly. If I do I’ll let you know.

Ok, you can use this feature to request an IFR flight plan after departing VFR.
Load into your departure airport without creating an IFR FP. Enter your FP into the GPS (not sure if you can do if from an FMS in an airliner).
Depart and at the first chance request flight following from ATC. At that point you should be able to use the request IFR FP option. ATC should give you an IFR clearance to your destination.
Not sure if it will pick up any waypoints you enter into the GPS, I just did a quick direct to.
Anyway, it is still a usable function, just not sure of all the particulars.
