GummiBerry9336 I’m going to try your solution if it applies. Thanks.
I have tried this. Thanks for taking the time to chime in. I do appreciate it!
This is getting old. Everything was good for me until this past week. Now I get the low bandwidth warnings everytime I try to play. Slow load times and inability to zoom in.
Folder is empty
DNS settings applied, it works sometimes, but mostly seems to struggle to reach servers and get this Low bandwidth message. It still be a kind of lottery.
Can we expect any support from Asobo or something?
As of late April I’m consistently experiencing low bandwidth errors in the SIM usually around night time 2000 EDT. I checked my Internet and I’m getting 900 Mbps up and down. I’m able to download from other websites and surf the Internet just fine.
My C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file doesn’t have any wayward IP addresses. Sometimes it takes a while to load the sim. When I get to the map and choose a location it takes a long time to load the airport in order to choose a ramp. Then when I click to fly, it takes a while to load into the plane. I waited 35 minutes the other night from start to finish.
Game support dpt said it’s an ISP issue, I don’t buy it at all.
Morning and afternoon, sim works fine. Around 8ish est, i get low bandwidth and the sim is unplayable. Its not just me, my friend in a different state but same time zone has the exact same issue.
I somewhat do. My internet provider was having serious issues for about a week in my area. Many in the subdivision I live in were complaing about it. When they finally fixed it I no longer saw the message. I also only saw the message when they started having issues.
Hi everyone, I’m in Rome,Italy with 1Gb/s FO and have the same issue about “low bandwidth” expecially in the evening/night hours. I tried almost everything about DNS (1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8) now just signed with nordvpn to see if i can fix this stuff. But still not happy i payied for the deluxe edition a quite ammount of money…
Feel free to repost if VPN works for you.
VPN did NOT work for me.
So darn frustrating. I’m dealing with the same and nothing works!
What may be helpful, as of Friday, is to join the SU3 Beta. It gives you the ability to download content, and therefore you have everything you want on your hard drives, like 2020. In the Marketplace under “My Library”, you can see all your content. Check the box in the thumbnail for what you want to download (you don’t have to install everything, just pick and choose), and then check “download” at the bottom. You can then click “Install” and voila - it’s on your drive. I’ve only downloaded my planes and airports. Seems to work flawlessly. But, SU3 is a beta, so some things don’t work, like you can’t click on charts in your EFB - it’ll crash..Maybe that will help.
I am dealing with a constant 'Network bandwidth low" message and I am trying to troubleshoot (my internet speed is tested on the same device to be 400 mbps+ so that’s not the issue.
I have never downloaded any maps mods for 2020 or 2024, and so does this fix even apply? Is it worth trying it if I know this was not the root cause?
I’m just waiting for SU3 and get the possibility to DL content. It’s currently fully playable 1 time on 15 on my side because of low bandwidth.
I posted some time back here about struggles I had with bandwidth, but really more so, loading the sim and into flights.
I’d tried most everything mentioned in this thread, a lot of which didn’t really make sense to me would help because I would go through streaks of things working really well without having made any changes.
A couple weeks ago I finally bit the bullet on a VPN and it works like magic for me. I’ve gone back and forth between having it on/off to confirm, and in particular, in instances I would stick at 25% loading the sim with it off, the instant I connect the VPN, the sim will continue loading.
It is frustrating to me to be paying for software I shouldn’t have to be. I wonder if this could be ISP(s) blocking traffic… and if so if there is any commonality to which ones are causing issues.
I’m using AT&T Fiber
SU 3 Beta allows for downloads now, so that may be the best option, if you have the space. That way you don’t rely on the ups and downs of their servers. I believe it’s about 400 GB, so if you have the space, download everything.
As I had mentioned previously, ever since mid- SU 2 beta, my sim has been working fine. So, clearly, it’s not your internet. Before that, it was unplayable, with Low Bandwidth messages. But since SU 2, it’s been working like a charm. Even 2020 was getting those messages, and now they’re gone as well!
If you’re not on at least SU 2, get that. It’s been pretty stable from what I hear
I did not noticed any improvement on SU2, my ethernet delivers 500mb/s and I still be dependant to Low Bandwidth messages or poor DL ingame rate (8mb/s vs 160 mb/s when it works properly). My ISP (VIdeotron QC) is not appliyng blocking traffic procedure from what i’ve heard.
Possible Solution for Others that worked for me.
I believe that when I purged the “hosts” settings in NotePad for the alternative “MSFS 2024 Map Enhancement” I must have deleted the necessary “hosts” file contents. As soon as I followed the MSFS 2024 fix for restoring the “hosts” file, all the connection problems disappeared. I’m flying again for the first time in around 2 weeks - everything looks great again. Try restoring the “hosts” file in NotePad. Scott - Happy Skies (once again).
