Very nicely done. Congrats…
This is my ‘temporary’ simpit. It’s made from parts of my previous cockpit which was in my back bedroom / office (this setup is temporarily in my front bedroom) and had the 180 degree projector screen that I’ve posted shots of before. I took this down late last year with the intention of quickly renovating the room and then building a new simpit from scratch, but set up this temporary one so I could fly while I built.
Well, for various reasons the new simpit build hasn’t even begun yet, but the Airbus-inspired pedestal you see in this shot is newly-built and should carry over to the new pit.
Currently fitted out with the VirtualFly TQ6 that I use for piston and turboprop aircraft, you can quick-change for the Thrustmaster TCA throttles (single or dual units for 2/4 engines) in about a minute or so. Change control profiles in MSFS and Spad.neXt and I’m ready to fly anything.
The iPad dock at the back lets me use this as a control panel with Air Manager or Spacedesk for type-specific stuff, or just holds and charges my iPad ![]()
I’ve been building this for the last few weeks and I’m reasonably happy with how it turned out. Sadly, because I rushed at the start and made the basic frame not quite square, there are lots of not-square bits, but you don’t really notice them unless you’re looking for them ![]()
what screens are these?
Hello everyone! (from France)
What do you think about my setup ?!
From my next level gt racing (flight pack) I made a full A320 panels running with Air manager.
- 4 touch screens (21,5 inch) Pfd, Mfd, Eng, Pedest, …
- 1 over head panel (23 inch)
- 1 front vew (34 inch, Curved)
And I’m far from ending this setup, it remains captain’s seat and front vew, mcdu, efis, …
The funniest thing is “I have no computer to run this😂”. My laptop gtx 1650 doesn’t follow any more the config. Looking for a Rtx 3080 or more for running this setup.
Which config do you suggest me to run this ?! ?!
looks like a pretty clean setup
Nice, but not being positioned with respect to the carpet pattern is triggering my OCD.
That is the most uncomfortable seat ever built. I removed the padding from the back and cut the welds where it bends forward. Then bent it straight. Finally just replaced it with a HD truck seat.
The 5800x3D is supposed to be the CPU for MSFS right now because of its stacked cache. There is no upgrade path for it though. A 4090 GPU should future-proof you for a while.
Very nice. I can’t wait to see the whole sim…Keep up the GREAT work!!!
My home cockpit is the best because its just a normal tv connected to a xbox s and a xbox controller
I dont have a pic to show u guys how cool and simpel it is
wow those computers atleast cost $100 in total ![]()
Wow so glad to have found this thread, such incredible work going on.
I bought an old Cessna 152 cabin last weekend and it’s now in the garage.
I’ll be working on converting my Logitech devices to live in the 152!
I am envious on your Cessna, the big space you have, and your flying carpet underneath the Cessna
.
Please keep us up to date on your project, you will find no better experts than us, here in this forum.
I do not understand why all of these high end setups (whole real planes!) don’t user Brunner Yokes for real feedback?
I kind of agree. Not necessarily on having to use Brunner but yes why would you put low end Logitech stuff into a build like this.
Holy shamoly, that’s just awesome.
Yes, please keep us posted on your progress.
YIPES! A very ambitious project. Can’t wait to see how it turns out. Best of luck!!!
Or you could build a cheapo unit using an old MSSFFB2 stick. That Brunner is nice but ■■■■ the price…
I was going to build a home cockpit, even cutout the MIP.
But then I discoverd VR. Feels like your flying in a real plane and you get to experience all types of planes.
Scratched that off my do to list ![]()
