Here are some work-in-progress images of my repaint of the Military Aviation Museum’s A6M3, restored by Legend Flyers at Paine Field in Everett, Washington.
The script on the side of the fuselage identifies the aircraft as having been a Patriotic Presentation Aircraft. Manufacturing costs during the war were subsidized by many different Japanese civilians, corporations and domestic entities. Early in the war, the names of those sponsoring an aircraft were emblazoned on the sides of the aircraft, along with a unique identification number, known as a Hōkoku-Go. The subscript on this Zero indicates that it was sponsored by the students and personnel of the Manchukuo Secondary School system (Manchukuo being the Japanese puppet state established in occupied Manchuria during 1932).
The newly-release freeware Lysander by DSD Simulations, in MSFS 2024. I’ve done a couple changes for use in 2024, so that the sounds are properly aliased to the 2024 DHC-2 Beaver, and I changed the modern pilot avitars to the GotFriends: Valor period-attired avitars.
