Ok so my world map just seems to be such low detail. I’ve seen other people that have nice edges and quality when they pick their destination but mine looks like a satellite view that never fully downloaded. I run the high end graphic settings but that doesn’t seem to affect the pre flight map. How do I get it more crisp?!

If you’re fully zoomed-out you should see a crisp image but as you zoom in it will lose resolution until it’s just a blur. This is a baffling design decision, given that there’s no reason why Asobo couldn’t have used a vector-based map which would have retained crisp resolution at any magnification (and have had a comparatively modest memory footprint). Perhaps they just didn’t have time to implement it prior to release.
Plenty of flight planning sites use very detailed (and fully-annotated) world maps which can be magnified many times without any loss of resolution.

We have this on many wishlists.
Hope for a update that gives us detailed map layers.
I have the same opinion. I think the quickest way to do this is to make Bing’s map available as it is when online
