'Pro' Tip - make sure you have all parts before installing a new CPU

Laugh if you want… I am.

I’m installing a new CPU today, was hoping to be flying by the time I’m writing this.

I cleaned the cooler block, cleaned the CPU lid, and squeezed some thermal paste on the block. Except that none came out.

Thank you, Amazon, for having what I wanted in stock, with same-day Prime delivery.

oh… I know what you mean… same if you need a simple cable extension (e.g. cpu connectors) and your dealer (not Amazon) tell you: “in stock… needs ‘only’ 14days”

Amazon has saved the day for me more times than I want to admit to…

In early Amazon days a good lady I knew purchased what seemed a great PC for the price … and threw a party for the unboxing with the intention of showing her friends how great it was. In the huge box the new PC was actually just a case, a mobo, graphics card, processor, psu, a few cables and a manual only in Chinese. I still giggle remembering the look of horror on her face.

Oh man, that would suck. :joy:

They do say that learning Mandarin is not too difficult - if you have a working PC
