ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue:
Although disabling the Atmospheric Effects (setting VolumetricClouds Enabled=0 in the UserCfg.opt file) can provide an immediate gain of 5-8 FPS (quite significant when considering the sim’s current poor performance) and results in a transparent canopy as a bonus (eliminating the annoying reflections and tint), doing this creates other problems:
- Random screen flickering in both flat screen and VR modes
- Dark surroundings, even in clear weather with sun high in the sky

REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
- Set VolumetricClouds Enabled=0 in the UserCfg.opt file (disabled)
- Start MSFS 2024
- Select starting location, set weather to clear sky and time to noon
- Start flying around and notice screen flickering + dark surroundings in clear, sunny weather despite clear canopy.
