I like to look around a cockpit as naturally as possible, which means free look. For some reason you cannot operate the aircraft while in free look which is not exactly great on such an expensive game, but I can live with it. A bigger problem is when I select free look the cursor disappears so I cannot minimise the big camera tab on the screen. This is just terrible and totally destroys immersion. Can anyone help with with a) getting rid of the camera tab when in free look and b) operating the aircraft when in free look?

If you’re using a gaming laptop with a touchpad, get yourself a proper mouse then use the middle mouse wheel button to switch between fixed and free look.
Thanks, but I prefer a touchpad. Is there no way to toggle the camera tab off without a mouse? That seems incredible.
I just tried setting my touchpad to accept a three finger tap as a middle wheel click, which does work on the computer, but not on the Flight Simulator. Any ideas? Can’t believe no one at MS thought about touchpad players.
Maybe you could bind a key on the keyboard that you can just toggle between fixed and freelook? Or maybe a combo of left and right click on the touchpad?
