Process Lasso is a MSFS killer

After the latest beta update (=SU 13) I had severe crunchy sound stutters accompanied by graphic stutters. It seemed that each time the sim loadad data these stutters occured (all 1-2 sec). After turning off Process Lasso, all these problems are gone and the sim runs smooth again.

For those who have similar problems.

Thanks I forgot I have Process Lasso running all the time.

Have you excluded MSFS process on Lasso probalance feature? You can do that via right mouse click on the process list.

So you CAN use Process Lasso without adverse effects as long as probalance for the MSFS process is deactivated?

For sure you can. Lasso is useful to adjust the process priorities and many more things. Probalance will prevent that a process turns to be a resource hog by temporarily lowering its priority and restoring it afterwards. I personally prefer to exclude games from probalance and set “always normal” priority in the intense games processes instead.

About OP sound cracks issues they were introduced by some of the latest windows updates in my case. I already had them with SU12 indeed and they happen without Lasso too. Windows throttles some processes dynamically (sound related processes are some of them) and that may be the reason.

Thanks for the info. Anything else I should avoid with Process Lasso in combination with MSFS. Or any recommended settings?

Tried setting MSFS only to the X3D cores in Process Lasso. That didn’t work at all MSFS wouldn’t start with that setting.

There´s no need to set anything special at Lasso to run MSFS. It will run fine even without Lasso. I just use the “always normal” basically to prevent that MSFS priority goes Low in case I click on my second monitor to use any other app while flying.
