Project Crosskart crashes

Driving the crosskart around is hazardous, pebbled road surfaces on highways and driving under bridges causes it to crash.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: Driving the crosskart around is hazardous, pebbled road surfaces on highways and driving under bridges causes it to crash. Nothing can be seen by way of an obstacle, the AI cars and vans pass under the bridge without a problem. Crosskart bought in Marketplace for 2024. See pics

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue? No, only have Navigraph which works very well with aircraft and is not relevant here.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

3rd time, bearing in mind I have only played with it 3 times!

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Load crosskart into Freeflight in southern america at an airport. tried driving out of airport onto highway and at intersection of road and start off bridge overpass there was a pebbly surface joining the 2 and this caused the kart to crash and then sink into the pebbled surface.
  2. Next time I was driving down road and just as I was going under this bridge you will see in photos it crashed against an invisible thing???
  3. AI cars passing easily under bridge!

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

[PC, MSFS 2020 Only] Are you using DX11 or DX12? ???

[PC Only] What GPU (Graphics Card) do you use? RTX 4070ti

[PC Only] What other relevant PC specs can you share? dont know where to find those or what you want but it was bought as a gaming computer

Hi @Pilotfirst9999 ,

Thank you for this report. We’ve moved your topic into the User Support Hub.

The Bug Reporting Hub is for posting suspected or confirmed bugs that other users are able to reproduce without duplicating an existing bug report. Using the template or providing all the relevant information about your bug and sim setup is required in order to provide valuable information, feedback, and replication steps to our test team.

If you are not sure if your issue is a bug or need further input from the community, please use the User Support Hub category. If the community can replicate your issue, first search the Bug category to see if there’s an existing topic. If it already exists, contribute to that report. Duplicate bug reports will be closed.

If you believe it is a new report and no duplicate exists, then create a new bug topic using the provided topic template.

All issues caused by or involving third-party addons/mods should be reported to the third-party developer. Assure that no addons/mods are used when reporting issues in Bug Reports.

If it hasn’t already been made, this request needs to be raised as an enhancement in the Official Microsoft Flight Simulator > Wishlist.

Sorry, I disagree with this being moved to the user support hub. Why? How can anyone else re-produce a bug if they are not aware that it might be? There is nothing the other users can do to fix this - it is a bug in the scenery whereby you just crash into seemingly nothing.

This is just arbitrary moving of anything I report to somewhere else. Have you bought one of these and tried to reproduce it at the exact point I crashed? There are lots of PI clues in my pictures.
Buy one and drive down this road or try to go on a bridge on a highway flyover and if you come across pebbled road prior to going over a bridge you will see.

The Crosscart is a 3rd party addon, so Asobo is not responsible for its function.
It is a known limitation that aircraft (and the Crosscart as a sim object is an aircraft) don’t drive over procedurally generated bridges. I think, GotFriends has acknowledged this problem in the product PDF.

Thanks for the info.

Well it does not drive under bridges, not over and not under trees. It gets stuck in pebbled road surfaces crashes when there is a sudden invisible object - all in all a massive disappointment as a purchase and certainly would NOT recommend it to anyone. In fact I have spent more time trying to extricate my self from - mystery whatever’s that make you crash than actually driving it!

Look at the revs I am doing - not moving an inch - can any object be seen - no

believe it or not, I actually crashed into invisible objects under the bridge and this is what I see when I try to restart. I’m on top of the bridge!

This is me trying to drive under a tree - boom, crash into what??? Nothing!

Anyway - people - don’t waste your money on this Marketplace junk!

Your report has been moved to that User Support Hub category because it explicitly involves a 3rd party addon. When creating a bug report it is asked to only report issues related to the core sim and 1st party addons:

.

I understand the issue is not with the vehicle itself but with the way bridges are implemented in MSFS as mentioned by @BlitzMeerkat . For that, see existing report: Can't fly under bridges

Thanks for the reply.

  • this was certainly not Beta tested before allowing it to join MSFS! But like I said, it seems nobody can fix it so it should be removed from the marketplace it is daylight robbery trying to enjoy this rubbish.

Of course it was. You just didn’t read the docs or research what you were buying.

What, you’re telling me it says somewhere that this smashes into invisible things somewhere in the sales jargon? Is there another post in these blogs I do not know about which warns us. This was given a good star rating. I shall never buy anything there again!

It’s covered in the troubleshooting section of the docs, other discussions on this very forum, and in multiple videos that demo the product. It takes just a couple minutes to check this stuff out if you’re interested in buying it.

Obviously Flight Simulator was not designed for ground vehicle support in this manner, so these things are going to be a bit of hack to get them to work. You should expect some limitations.

GotFriends is one of the better developers for Flight Simulator. If you’re having trouble with their stuff, you should definitely stick to the base sim and officially supported add-ons.

Yup , I will certainly not be buying stuff from there again - but these should not be allowed to be sold unless there is a good chance of it actually working - esp given its star rating!

It does work if you take the time to understand its limitations and use it within those limitations.

GotFriends has a Discord. Please post your Voice of the Customer feedback there, where it should get the attention of the manufacturer. Thanks.

Tried and joined but it would not allow me to post. I suspect you have to be in it for a while.
