Any opinions on this bird? I’ve been following the development and I kinda want it.
Can 3D passengers be loaded into the CASA C212-200 cabin?
I can do that with MSFS EFB default passengers on the Do228 for instance but can’t find anything similar on the Project Max C212.
No, since it is not a native 24 model. According to Project MAX that will come at a later date.
One of the most interesting offerings lately, and possibly first Garret engine with deeper simulation in MSFS (made it before the Twin Commander :>).
But some parts really are not up to current payware visual standards. I hope they will improve them with time, because it’s really not far away from being great. And they for sure are able to improve it, because other parts look really good. If I’m not looking at the area around my pilot’s legs I’m really enjoying it ![]()
Good to know a native MSFS 2024 model is coming at a later date, thanks!
First impressions
External model needs some polishing, the instrument panel looks great, although textures in less prominent places are maybe not totally up to today’s standards. (But again these have been hugely elevated by products like 707 that has amazing visuals at a bargain price)
Huge props for customisation, different avionics options and KLN 90B. Interior that is changeable on the fly is also something I haven’t seen yet. The avionics seem not to have any horrible bugs.
The engines are probably the best simulated TPE331s in MSFS to date. iniBuilds abysmal renditions in the MU-2 and Skyvan are nothing in comparison. The engines work as they should, have a rapid response time and the startup and power lever/rpm lever relationship seem to be accurate. I have yet to see whether the manual start works.
There are however certain issues with the engine controls. According to this QRH, LIMITER COMPUTER switches are three position switches and should be used to test the temperature and torque limiters, whereas in the simulation they seem to work as on/off switches for the whole TTL system.
SRL & LIMITER COMPUTER on the other hand seem to not do anything and have no influence on the EGT and torque apart from that engine will not start if they’re not at both. Is it supposed to be like that?
Also, NTS CHECK doesn’t work. IRL it should light up and go out at specific moments during the start-up, whereas in the sim it never lights on
They have a tad too much power during taxi and the beta lights don’t light up with throttle between ground idle and flight idle (I assume they should? The manual says that lack of BETA light in taxi regime doesn’t indicate a failure but I understand that it should come on at least intermittently?)
For normal flights it’s more than adequate, there are problems when you try running tests and checks though.
Overall for a first aircraft it’s great and it feels a deep niche. I might be a bit biased but I just like the C212 on a personal level. With some bugs fixed and engine test functions corrected it’ll be great.
I honestly wish it became as famous as Blacksquare because it deserves it
Seems to me that Ini is releasing aircraft to the community that are undercooked and then relying on the community to beta test.
I like it but I will wait until it gets a few updates and into the MP.
ini didn’t make this aircraft…they are just the distributer, not cool to shame a company that has nothing to do with this creation of this aircraft. They are simply selling it.
I know that, but they are selling it while knowing it is not the finished product! I’m sorry but if someone pays for something they have a right to expect it is in it’s correct state - this seems like a big trend at the moment with other aircraft too - it is not only this one!
It,s not an unfinished product, bought it yesterday and I tested in a few flights, the systems works as should do, the airplane flights as should be, and the inmersion is pretty cool, nice textures except in some small areas, the efb is very nice with tons of options to customize the plane. I see a solid product here with no important bugs. (I didn,t find any yet).
Watch Avangels review - there are still a few things to do plus it needs to come to the MP and given it’s use in aviation I hope it is enabled for those that use Career.
It is a very nice aircraft and I like it - just needs polishing up!
Low res textures … fo 40$ ??
You’re not just paying for textures.
Is there an Simbrief airframe profile for when setting up a flightplan on Simbrief?
For us wanting the TDS 750 option, good news from the Dev in their Discord…“we are planning on it, once we got the resources needed from TDS SDK we will integrate it ASAP”
If you go into Inibuilds tablet they have a option in the settings to select your aircraft configuration and able to switch configurations from cargo to passengers
Just noticed that when using the EFIS option, there are click spots on each of the four screws of the lower unit that allow quick adjustment of display mode, range, heading, and course. Very thoughtful touch ![]()
