Are you planning the flight properly in the pre-flight hangar screen via the EFB? Are you selecting an appropriate FL in the EFB during the planning phase before flight? Are you sending the plan to the avionics and sending it to ATC too (if you choose to use the broken AI ATC?)
Also I highly recommend taking a few seconds to find the comms volume on the radio stack. It says ‘vol’ on all the channels if you look.
