PS5 - Career - Missions - Freelancer - no Live weather

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

On the PS5, when viewing and selecting missions on the map in Career mode, the live weather missions (marked with a red dot) are only available in Employee mode, not in Freelancer mode. It does not matter if I drag the “live timing” slider to match the UTC weather window. This time slider works as expected for Employee missions. If I drag into the appropriate time window, the red dots on the eligible missions appear and disappear, depending on the timing window (as expected). But when I switch over to listing Freelancer missions, the time slider makes no difference - no read dots appear in any position. As a related side effect, in Freelancer, all missions have difficulty 1 (no missions appear with difficulty 2 or higher). Whereas, in Employee mode, I do see missions with difficulty 2 and 3 as well.

I own 4 companies in the career mode: Flightseeing, Charter (VIP), Cargo, and Medevac. I am not sure, but I think the red dot missions used to work in Freelancer mode, when I only owned two companies (Flightseeing and Charter). I think it may have stopped working when I then acquired the Medevac company, but without buying any airplane for it. If that is the case, then the issue could be related to something like “live weather in Freelancer mode stops working if a company exists with no airplanes bought”.

Weather: No live weather. All missions show 0 knots of wind, and VRF/IFRR is shown as “UNKN”. I do have the “live weather switch” set to ON in the Settings > Online.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Every time I start the simulator. Restart of PS5 does not help.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Be in career mode (I am at roughly career Level 100).

  2. Buy 4 companies: Flightseeing, Charter, Medevac, Cargo. Buy airplanes only for Flightseeing and Charter. Have no airplanes for Medevac and Cargo.

  3. Go to the map and view Freelancer missions. See how no missions at all are showing the red dot, no matter how the time slider is adjusted. Switch over to Employee mode. See how the red dots now appear as they should.

MEDIA

Please add a screenshot or video of the issue occurring.

I have red dot missions in freelancer for cargo and vip in ps5. As of 14.56 uk time, most of the medium cargo missions with red dots are in ne usa. Vip reds are all over but again most in usa.
I dont think flightseeing have 2 or 3 stars in either freelance or employee. They cant really be flown in bad wearher or night time that im aware of.

Unless you own the relevant aircraft and have the instrument and night flying licence you may not see them.
I am level 153.

Thanks for your input. I used to see the red dots in Freelancer too, but I no longer see them.

I think the issue / bug is likely this:

If the user creates a new company, but does not buy any aircraft at all for it (which is my situation), then there will be a company with zero aircraft. When the code is deciding which missions to show on the map, it checks the user’s companies, and for each company, which aircraft are owned. This allows MSFS to show only relevant missions, based on the user’s available aircraft. When there exists a company without any aircraft, this makes this part of the code fail (the bug). The code is not written for the possible scenario of a user having an “empty company” without aircraft.

This seems to be related to the career mode maintenance a few days ago; these issues didn’t occur before. I created 7 companies, each with aircraft. However, only a few of the cargo, medical, and passenger transport missions have red dots marked. Furthermore, after adjusting the timeline, the times for missions without red dots are fixed to a specific daytime period.
