I’m with everyone that says a mouse is critical. I use the HOTAS and trackball in PSVR and it’s really the killer combo (along with a keyboard for easy keys - I run my VR “open” so I can peek out).
That said, I’m not thinking that Asobo is looking to say to just live with it without the mouse, I think it’s all about figuring out what part of the SDK is causing the issues.
I’m just very happy they have taken the time to pursue it and seem to be on the case. Fingers crossed we get a hotfix soon.
Flying the return leg of my flight yesterday Palma de Mallorca to Manchester just using the Hotas 4 and Dualsense controller. No mouse and no keyboard plugged in.
Still the same random inputs. Parking brake set and landing gear extending on its own.
Upon doing some more testing, I plugged my keyboard back in and instantly started seeing random inputs. Unplugging it, I managed to complete a full flight without any so it’s very hit and miss. All I will say is, It’s very hard work to play the sim especially without a mouse but I didn’t realise how important the keyboard also is (mainly for switching to custom camera views around the cockpit). 100x more fiddly just using the dualsense to move around the cockpit to use different instruments.
The sim worked fine prior to sim update 6 with the mouse and keyboard as well as the Hotas 4 and Dualsense so something has gone wrong with the sim update or the updated thrustmaster SDK. From my side, I think it’s either the keyboard or mouse or both which is triggering random control inputs even though I don’t have any specific control mapped to these devices but it does seem like these devices are causing some interference with the Hotas 4 or the sim in general. Would be nice for this to be addressed and have all 4 devices working completely fine like they did before sim update 6
Yeah it’s very hit and miss because yesterday I got random inputs without the keyboard and mouse and today just the keyboard worked fine, didn’t try the mouse. I think the hotas 4 has got a mind of its own since the update. Hopefully everybody else in this thread can test and see what their outcome is and then most of all, we finally get a permanent fix issued for this. At least they’ve finally been able to replicate the issues we’ve been having and it has now been bug logged
I have never used the keyboard, only a mouse, and I still have the same issues. Sometimes from the very beginning, when I’m still taxing to the runway, others after take off. But always within the first 20 minutes of flight. Always. I have never played again without suffering this bug since that awful update. The only thing I do is disconnect the Hotas after take off and use the Dualsense and the mouse for the flight, and then reconnect the Hotas before landing. But most of the times this ends in a total block of the brakes, which do not work well when I reach the target gate and I have to stop.
Unfortunately I can confirm that I have been experiencing regular random switches to external view and random parkingbrake activation using Hotas4 without mouse and keyboard.
Have not been using mouse or keyboard at all.
Am using cursor mode on controller, or PSVR2 sense controllers for mouse functions.
Just managed a full 1hr 40min flight with no random inputs at all using the hotas 4, Dualsense and a wireless mouse with usb receiver plugged into the ps5 (no keyboard connected). I’m not sure what’s going on all of a sudden but does seem very random. Every single time I used all 4 devices together, I would get random inputs every flight. The last 2 days, I’ve used different setups (not using all 4 at once) and now it seems better. It does still need a proper fix though because I reckon I’m just getting some good luck all of a sudden
