Put a keyboard function into a controller button

Is it possible to Put a keyboard function into a controller button. Like cntrl and F5. If so how is it done.
Thanks

You can do it with external software: e.g. JoyToKey.

It shouldn’t be necessary in MSFS though, as you should be able to set a controller command to achieve the same thing as any keyboard input directly.

I guessed there was a way, but I can’t figure it out. Any suggestions?

I’m trying to think this through for you… while not being at my system.
Are you trying to map a controller button to something that is already mapped to a Keyboard input?
If the command you are triggering with the keyboard can be found in the controller menu, then it should work.
If you go to the controller and change the search to “All” instead of “Essential” and/or “Assigned” and the command you want is found under “All” you should be able to map it to any input on your controller. Some people don’t know about the “All” part… and give up looking too soon.

Just thinkin’ out loud here.

I know about the All part. What I am trying to do is map the keyboard (Chord) Ctrl and F5 to a button on my throttle. In the TBM that combination sets the cockpit camera to the upper set of switches above the windshield. I tried setting Load Custom Camera 5 to the 1 button on my controller, but no dice, nothing happened. I have Load Custom Camera 1 and 2 set to button on the controller but can’t remember how I did it.

Thanks for the response

BTW, Custom Buttons 1 and 2 work perfectly. Sorry I left that out.
