Pyrenees Bush Trip - Managing Diesel RPM?

I’m in the 1st leg of the new MSFS trip using the aircraft provided & the RPM is hitting the 2,300 mark & flashing the warning ‘red light’ even though I am climbing at a sedate 100’ pm & the throttle is at 45 %.
Is there someway to manage the RPM other than via the throttle?

I assume it’s the DA40 or DA62. No, you can’t control prop RPM in these aircraft.
Theses significantly wrong RPMs have been reported already during alpha testing.

This is a new issue in DA40NG. It was never right to begin with, but WU4 broke it further.

In a ‘correct’ set up for this aircraft are the RPM’s tied to the % throttle being used?

Yes. In the “correct” set up, you also have FADEC.
