Is it possible that in the updates from April the previously existing landmarks, correct representations of buildings and textures have disappeared or have been degraded?
And if no, how can I restore the previous good representations?
The case:
On April 6, I had shot a video with a flight over the center of Berlin.
Many sights (Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor), East Berlin Radio Tower (Ostberliner Funkturm), Victory Column (Siegessäule), the many trees at the park Tiergarten, Technical University of Berlin etc. etc.) were excellently represented. The only disadvantage: too many trees in the streets.
I repeated this flight now after several updates of the Flightsimulator today and was very disappointed:
All trees in the Tiergarten were gone. One building stands lonely directly on the street. Of the Victory Column, you can only see the base. The Brandenburg Gate is shown as a simple house, the East Berlin Radio Tower is completely missing, the building of the Technical University is unrecognizable.
What happened during the updates in the meantime? Regardless of the fact that MSFS seem to have added excellent new sceneries such as Norway: Why are apparently within only about 2 months so many already well represented objects e.g. in Berlin simply disappeared again?
I’m afraid that this has happened in other cities as well?
If you ever get disconnected from the internet while flying, your online settings and photogrammetry will be turned off in the data settings menu. You will be notified of this by a pop-up, but that doesn’t stay up for very long, so is easy to miss.
Just revisit your settings under the data tab to see if anything is turned off.
Thanks for the valuable hint.
Lately I actually sometimes had the short but wrong hint that I had no internet connection.
Of course, when I got the message, I immediately checked that by going to a page in the browser. But it was a wrong message.
If it reported that: Does it then keep the settings even when I’m back online?
I’m not at my PC running MSFS at the moment, but will check as soon as possible.
Thanks for the idea that was the solution!!!
I really would not have looked so quickly under “Data”. Only the settings under “Graphics” I had in view.
The BING world graph data was disabled. That was the problem.
Now all the buildings are very realistic again.
