I for my part consider these as “big name add-on devs”.
I think that developing an aircraft with good visuals AND good system depth takes an immense effort and a lot of time. We do not know how long ASOBO modelled the stock aircrafts but I am sure it took them longer than a year.
We will see previews of the PMDG 737 soon which was in development prior to MSFS being released, so I really hope that they put as much effort into the visual fidelity as they did with the systems.
