I appreciate you sharing your experience. But the thing that continues to baffle me with VR users on MSFS more than any other title is the wide disparity of experience from users with even the same hardware. I have a fairly high end system (5950x & 3080Ti) and when I first got my Q2, I spent weeks tweaking settings in everything; MSFS, Q2, Tray tool, Diag tool, OXRTK, etc. The biggest problem was I would find a good setup but the next run I would have to tweak again.
But then I spent the $19 for Virtual Desktop and never looked back. No more tools/SW of any kind and every time I run MSFS I don’t have to adjust anything. It’s the same great graphics and framerate every run and I can just enjoy flying. And no cables! Yet, others have done the same and say they can’t get VD to run well. It’s truly baffling how the MSFS VR experience can vary so greatly between users, even with similar HW. If someone could determine that variable, it would be groundbreaking for many.
Here is a recent clip over Los Angeles. The recording method make the head movement exaggerated, but you can see the visuals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhiWyHAEbR0
