Hi guys, I am trying to figure out why Airlink is not working on my system. I tried updating the chipset drivers and bios to latest versions on my Asus Rog Hero Z790 with no success. I run an 4090 on 13900K. All green lights prerequisites met and looks like the PC is connected, however when try to enter airlink I only get 3 white dots. Any thoughts ?
Have you tried Virtual Desktop (if you have it)?
Ya, even with the exact same PC specs I sometimes (maybe ~10-20% of the time) find starting up Link can be a little cranky at times. I use the official link cable plugged into my z790mb usb3.2 type-c port and get 2.4Gbps on the oculus desktop app device settings speed test. For starters, make sure you are getting at least 2.2-2.4Gbps, otherwise try a different port and/or usb3 cable.
If I have the occasional 3-dot problem I’ve normally found it best to unplug my headset link cable, then replug it in again, waiting for the link cable connection notice, then try again.
Worse case, I unplug the headset cable and restart everything (PC, oculus desktop app, and Q3). Then plug in the headset link cable and try again. This usually fixed things, for me anyway. You might also want to try starting up Link without starting up the desktop app. This should normally startup automatically.
Otherwise, maybe do a little google troubleshooting, for example;
If you can’t sort this out I suggest you contact meta support, including your log file, and see if they can identify what may be causing your issue.
As much as I prefer using Link with my Q3 and QPro, the transition into PCVR with both Virtual Desktop and Steam Link is a lot faster/easier imho. You need a good router/wifi setup for these though; 1gig router ethernet wired to your PC and dedicated 5Ghz wifi close by, preferably in the same room.
Anyway, good luck mate and cheers.
Thank you both for your thoughts.
I do have VD, and yes it works well. I would have liked however to try the wireless link as I have some older games I purchased in the past linked to my account that I would have liked to play again. I will probably stick with VD for now but frustrated when I cannot make things work. In all fairness the picture in my Varjo Aero is way better than any Quest 3 setup …although I have not tried the cable option yet. I do enjoy Assasins Creed in my Quest 3 though
!
Hi @Mihaita have you reinstalled the Oculus driver, that fixed an audio issue for me with the Quest 3. I must admit though, I do prefer VD. ![]()
Find this program and rerun it.
c:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-drivers\oculus-driver.exe
Hi Sneaky, thx for getting back to me. Will give that a try as well…cheers ![]()
