Question about adding PNG files to liveries

Hi - hope I posted this in the right section. I’ve been creating some custom liveries (just for my own use) and I’m having issues with adding images using Photoshop. For example, I want to add logos to the cabin wall of a 737BBJ. But when I do the quality completely sucks when I hop inside the plane. I’ve tried making the images very large with high resolution, and I’ve tried much smaller, but good quality images. I just can’t get it to look good. Any tips on how to add photos to textures and maintain the quality? My textures, minus the images, look nice. To add the images, currently I just drag them onto my DDS file in PS and save. I’ve seen it done well on other liveries, so I’m sure I’m just going about it wrong. Thanks.

Can you show some screen shots and examples of the textures? If the texture itself isn’t resized larger, then there’s going to be a quality loss when you paste a much smaller logo into it.

I think these are 2k textures - should increasing them to 4k help? (I realize that’ll have some affect on performance, but that’s ok). If that doesn’t help I’ll post a couple of screenshots to show you what I’ve got going on. Thank you.

Yeah, just use the snipping tool to paste a couple of quick screenshots in here so we can see what you’re working with. I’ve spent some time debugging my own livery creations including trying to get logos looking decent in big texture files. If your texture is 2048x2048, but the logo only takes up only something like 10% of the span of the texture, then the logo is going to be downscaled with a drastic quality loss. Going to 4k or even 8k on the texture might help.
