Question about fs2020 perception vs Real flying

So question everyone… Has FS2020 spoiled flying to a degree for anyone? Not necessarily GA flying but Airline flying?. I recently flew on an internal UK flight for example and would normally scramble for a window seat but on this occasion didn’t feel I had to/wanted to, as its such an accurate representation (esp. In VR) that I didn’t feel I needed to look outside… Maybe just me.

I think it’s just airline flying that spoils airline flying

It‘s never getting old to see the world from above but I‘ve never liked to be crammed into a tin can. So yeah… it‘s really airline flying (as a pax) that spoils the flying experience. I usually avoid it if possible. Doesn’t mean though that I‘d ever reject an offer in any other plane or simply fly myself. Flying never gets old.

That’s true

The graphics are a bit better in the real world and you get less stutters on approach.

That’s so true too cianpars

Not always. I went up a couple days ago when it was 95F and it was really hazy and we couldn’t even see the city skyline that is normally visible. I asked my flight instructor where the weather slider was and he didn’t have a positive response.

No - the opposite!
I absolute HATE airline flying in real-life and feel like sh*t while sitting between 20.000 kilos of high-flammable Kerosine that is nothing more than an accident waiting to be happen…
But virtual airliner flying is absolute relaxing and beautyful.

When the first jet engines get a Tesla motor to drive the N1 fan instead of a turbine core I will feel better when sitting into an airliner, because there it will be just batteries inside the wings and I am not getting roasted when technical difficulties happen - but this will take 30-50 years from now on till the first electric airliners lift off.

The level of granularity which exists in nature has not been even remotely broached by MSFS. I’ll keep looking out the window.

Lol. Have you tried blinking a lot whilst wearing the wrong prescription glasses

So, I’m 10 years not current. Still, take it from an old(er) GA guy who appreciates that I have two flight sims that are able to scratch my aviation ich…LOL! The systems, physics and situations are nice to have in these sims. It’s nothing like RW flying. So, enjoy the sims. I know I do. But don’t kid yourselves. It doesn’t compare to the real thing. And no, a simmer could not land a GA aircraft in the RW. He/she could get close but that only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. And yes, I know a guy did safely land a GA aircraft recently. I wouldn’t want to see the odds of that outcome happening again…LOL!

Most of these cases the passengers had some flying knowledge ,wife, friend or who flew the pilot often and or worked in aviation sectors, were close to a airport etc. Media always tries to make it bigger than Ben Hur. I have never heard of a passenger having to move pilot so he she can get to the front of plane from the back of aircraft.
