Hey there!
I’ve been browsing through forums but still can’t seem to find an answer to my question. Can you tell me what sets FSLTL injector apart from the default MSFS live traffic? I’m quite confused as to what differentiates the two. I’m mostly a VATSIM user, but I’d like to test the offline feature. I’m not a big fan of robotic-sounding ATC, but I do enjoy having real airline schedules and traffic immersion.
Hello there,

FSLTL injector is usually more “cleaned up” as far as the traffic data is concerned. It can actually match aircraft type, airline code, and render the right models and liveries. The default MSFS live traffic is a lot of hit and miss. Sometimes it renders GENERIC aircraft type, while the actual real live flight is actually an A320, which makes the sim render the wrong aircraft model and the wrong livery.
But both are generally the same, they capture live traffic data and spawn them into your flight session. Just that FSLTL has a better and cleaner traffic data for the sim to render, while MSFS default live traffic is a pile of mess.
Thank you. I will use only FSLTL with Live traffic OFF then.
I like the fact that FSLTL populates the airport with suitable historic parked aircraft, making it feel busier than with default live traffic. FSTL is great, you won’t regret using it.
But if you are a person like me and you don’t mind having the real plane with the real livery in the right place and you just want to add some life to the airport is live traffic more fps friendly than fsltl ?
Live Traffic using Asobo models is the most fps optimal option, albeit inaccurate model matching. You can also use FSLTL models with Live Traffic and eschew the FSLTL Injector. They just won’t support any questions on it. I personally use the models, Aerosoft Simple Traffic for the lIveries and Live Traffic for the injector. I accept the small FPS loss for the aesthetic.
I have a medium system (Asus G12 laptop) and ditching MSFS 2020’s live traffic for FSLTL has given me 5 - 8 fps in addition to a much wider variety of planes and liveries. For me MSFS 2020 live traffic was the biggest resource hog and really limited my settings. FSLTL is much lighter.
The injectors all gave poorer performance - I’ve tried most of them - and consistently across two different PC configurations.
